Tetricube - Tetris Game Clone
In the standard, two-dimensional game of Tetris you have, five pieces that consist of four blocks. These five pieces represent all of the ways that the four blocks can be put next to each other in a two-dimensional plane. I say, why not have a new Tetris game where your have a box as a playing field and the pieces are all the combinations of five cubes in a three-dimensional field. The way that I have figured it (with help from my roommate) is that there are 25 different combinations when you take into account rotation along three different axes - it takes a lot of effort to think about all the different possibilities (my roommate thinks that there are at least two more). Anyway, the game would be played similar to regular Tetris except that the game field would be three-dimensional, the pieces would be move along the x- and y-axes (if you take the view of the pieces falling along the z-axis), the pieces can be rotated along three axes, and the scoring would be either fill up a strait line going parallel to either the x- or y-axis (in other words perpendicular to the z-axis) - the scoring bonus could get crazy when you go at multiple axes. As for playing field size, I guess that it would depend upon play testing. I also imagine the view being isometric with the ability to freely move the camera if you wanted.
Overall, I think that this idea could make for a really fun and challenging, puzzle game that would force people to think much more three-dimensionally.

I remember when I played Tetris as a kid; the "simpel" little game could keep me occupied for hours. If this idea is developed by a gamecompany, I don't know what could happen to my sosial life :)
