The Legend of Zelda

INTRO
The intro begins in a dark landscape, something like a nightmare version of the Sacred Realm where Ganon was imprisoned in the Ocarina of Time. Surrounded by his followers, he creates an illusion of Link, Princess Zelda and Majora's Mask to his henchmen and tells them to huntdown the two heroes and obtain that mask. Using the triforce of Power embedded in his hand, he creates a small crack in time and space and sends his minions to Hyrule. After they leave, Ganon stands alone in his domain, overlooking the wasteland that has become his home and cursing the Hero of Time for putting him there...

The game begins showing Link and Zelda having a little pic-nic in the forest. All is well as they have a somewhat intimate moment. Suddenly the sky darkens and the triforce pieces appear on the back of their hands. A flash of lightning falls to the ground right next to them, and a small girl appears beside them with blue skin and silver hair. She is exhausted and barely consious. Her name is T'Karen and she comes from Manari, a completely different dimension. She tells them that she has been sent by the creators of Hyrule, the three golden goddesses, to find the hero of time. At that point, an orb of darkness hovers close to the three and a man appears, wearing black armor and a mask over his face that sort of resembles Majora's mask but is not the same.

He approaches the girl and tells her that their lord is displeased with her and that he has sent him to assasinate her.
This is where the game begins and Link's first objective is to protect the girl, by defeating the armored man...
STORY
The basic concept goes like this: Ganon is searching for Majora's mask to obtain the mask's powers. Although Link thought he released the evil from the mask, he merely made it lay dormant within the artifact. T'Karen comes from another dimension which is home of the three golden goddesses, a place where magical beings are abundant. It is ruled by a great evil, namely Majora. The three goddesses created Hyrule with hope that someday, they can flee from their world and reside there with the rest of their people. Majora sealed a portion of his powers into a mask, awaitng someone to wear the mask and be controlled as a puppet by his dark powers(namely Skull Kid from Zelda:Majora's Mask).T'Karen is actually Majora's daughter. She was sent by the goddesses to Hyrule to find Link and help her obtain the mask of her father. T'Karen found out that her father had "employed" Ganon to find the mask, offering his freedom from the Sacred Realm in return, but Ganon had a plan of his own. He intends on finding the mask and awakening it's powers so that he may use them to escape and then destroy Link and Zelda once and for all.

After finding out of his daughter's plans, Majora sent a few of his soldiers to eliminate her with the accusation of betrayal. Majora needs his mask back so he may obtain his full powers once again...

Well that's the basic storyline of my idea. I also think that a good idea for the game,as an addition would be something like a practise course, in a different mode, so Link can master every move and weapon he dicovers. In the beginning of the game he would be able to use only the basic moves but when he discovers something in the game, it would be unlocked in the practise mode.

GAMEPLAY
There's not much I can say about the gameplay, except that this game would need a whole new set of weapons and objects. One basic problem is that many Zelda games share the exact same items and weapons. I mean, how many times has Link found the Master Sword or the Hook-shot or even the Ocarina? Anyway, the battle-system could change a bit. Link wouldn't have a fairy with him in this game. He would automatically lock his direction towards a nearby enemy, but by pressing a button, Link would freeze in place and by moving the stick around, he would control only his shield or sword in different directions. He would be able to shift his shield to his left side and immediately bring it to his right side in order to deflect different attacks from the enemy. This could help make excellent swordfights, with a quick pace. The same goes for the enemy as Link could bring his sword from any direction, since his opponent would be blocking too. Also when the game is paused, the player can rotate the camera around in a determined radius around Link, so the player can select the camera's position that suits him best, especially when fighting. Link would be able to hold different items in his hands when fighting and not necessarily a sword and shield. He could hold two swords for example and make battles more hectic.

About wandering around, well the same rules apply as any 3-D game. Walking, running, climbing, swimming etc, etc, etc! No point in changing the unchangeable...

Oh man do I look forward to play Zelda on Gamecube! I'm in the middle of (more towards the end I think) of Majora's Mask. And when I'm done I will just start the wait for the next Zelda game to arrive, like all Zelda fans.
