Skill SharpenerSkill Sharpener Puzzle Game
(play the essence of all the games)PERCENTAGE OF GAME CONSISTS: reflex (action)=50%, luck=5%, focus=30%, rpg=15% BASIC CONCEPT: This is not so much as a game to win, but it helps you do better in other games, by increasing your skill in various ways. It could be considered like Tettris in the way that Tettris wasn't made to be a game to help a person relax and focus, and this is not mainly a game to play around with but to help increase your skill, in a fun and addicting was just like Tettris. There is no commitment to this game, just like Tettris in how you could drop the game whenever you want to because there is no ending, and you could start at your difficulty level which makes it convenient. GOAL: This game would not concentrate that much on testing your skill. Unlike every other game ever made, it would not consist of trial and error, and will not get into a story which is only useful once, but this is unique on how it sharpens your skills in many raw ways. This game gradually advances in levels of difficulty depending on how well the player does, which improves the players skill as it is intended. If you do not do well in the round you will not advance to the next level, and you will stay at the same level, because your reached your maximum skill which is challenging enough. The difficulty is set at your top performance, and not below which would make it easy or above which would make it impossible for you like most other games. This game would be just as fun and as addicting as Tettris on how you are suppose to reach the next difficulty, but this game saves your progress or it could start you up at the difficulty level where you are suited for by taking a fast test when you start the game again. HOW YOU INTERACT IN THE GAME: Here is a basic description of the game. You are a character that is in the center of a room inside a machine that shoots out projectiles, and you have to eliminate every object that show up on your screen, and that headed to you, passed you, or around you depending on what skill you want to increase. If you want to increase your reflex then choose the game where you shoot down objects with only one button and don't use the direction pad. If you are trying to increase your speed and accuracy of your hand and eye coordination, you us the direction pad which automatically fires at the four directions of where the objects come at you. You can't shoot rapidly at any direction with unlimited ammo, it wouldn't be much or a challenge, but you do have for example the same amount of ammo as there are enemies. But don't fear, you do not have lives to lose any, its just that your results get put on a permanent record which is intended to show how well you progress. HOW THE GAME LOOKS LIKE AND CAMERA VIEW: Well that is tough to describe, but it is a closed room as if you were in a box and you are stuck in the center. The objects come from each side of the wall directly opposite of you because you could only shoot four ways, maybe if you advance in your skill the enemy will come out from eight directions, and you could also shoot from eight directions as well. The entire game isn't like that, because it varies from the different skill you want to increase, so all the games would be different. The entire level is viewed in one screen just like Tettris, it does not scroll. You could choose the regular top view that looks 2D over the level, top corner view that looks 3d over the level, or choose 3rd person view where you are in the action. If you are undecided on which view to chose from, then you could split the screen and choose 2 views at the same time. There is an additional view when you choose to view 2 windows, it is the view if your projectile. A second view would make the game more fun, but a bit more detracting, but eventually it will help you focus on the main screen over time. MULTI PLAYERS: The player could also go against other players, in which both players could compete side by side on the basis to see who is faster, more accurate, who has the higher score, etc. So just because you beat your opponent in just speed doesn't mean that you beat him, because your opponent probably won in accuracy. So the best way to win without question is to annihilate the competition in every skill level. The game will help you improve your skill, while being fun in its addicting way. The reason why the game is addicting is that it is simple, very short in level, slowly increases difficulty when the player is at his maximum skill ability so that you won't loose. This makes it challenging, fun, and is helpful in increasing your skill. TYPES OF SKILLS: There are other various games that increase other abilities, which challenge, and compel in different skills like your reflex, accuracy, concentration, etc. Each game requires you to use only one skill. So the game that increases your reflex doesn't have any element of accuracy or aiming. There is also a game that could help you master the control pad (or other controls) more efficiently. The game wouldn't be complicated, it would help you improve in other games such as Street Fighter 2's control of doing the specials, for reflex, or for speed of game more accurately. There could be other games which would also help in other aspects by training to improve memory. It is possible to make this game, because it doesn't require a powerful computer with a graphic card, which would be very useful, challenging, and fun for everyone. Harry S. harry_s_@hotmail.com This is an interesting idea for sure. But the question is why would you want to practise your SFII gaming skills with a skill sharpener game when you could play the real thing? I don't have an answer for that question, only know that I would probably buy it if it ever were to be made :-) Idea Reviewer: -Vegard Aure-
