In this game you raise dogs to do certain things like jump, run, or just be alive. First there are a few different styles of play, speed mode, jump mode, agility mode, therapy mode, show mode, or obedience mode, you can also play in breed mode. In all these modes, you get a nice little house with a fairly large yard, you also get to start with a male and female dog of your choice. When you win competition you get money and you can save it to spend when your dog is older or get a better house and bigger yard. After any competition, your dog can be hit with an illness or disease. You have to have enough money to pay for the treatment to save your dogs life. If you do not have enough money, your dog will die soon. Another way you can get money is when you have puppies you can always sell them or their parents. You get to pick your character. There could also be a cool little create a character mode. Were you pick age, weight, and other things like clothes and such. In create a character mode you should always see a picture of your character on the side so you can see the character get taller as you raise their height. In all the modes you get to choose from all the different kinds in the menu.

SPEED MODE
In speed mode, you try to make the fastest pup in the world to beat the other challengers. You can lose by getting beat five times in a row or having your poor old doggy die and not have enough money to buy a new one. In this mode you don't have to press anything for your dog to run, it is all about the speed.

JUMP MODE
In the jump mode category, you get to raise the perfect dog that can out jump the others in the competition! The ways to lose in this category is to be disqualified from a competition by knocking over the bars five times or of course, your dear dog dies and you do not have enough money to buy a new Rover. In this mode you have to press a button at the right time or your dog will not jump.

AGILITY MODE
In Agility mode, you raise the perfect young one to become the best agility dog. You have to train your dog to run the course correctly or you will lose. If you loose two times in a row, you get the dreaded game over screen. In this mode you have to press a different button for each obstacle so the dog goes the right way around the course. If you do not go around the course correctly you get a penalty and they cost five seconds added on to your score.

THERAPY MODE
In therapy mode, you breed a mutt or a purebred to make people happy. Are you wondering how you can lose this mode? Well you have to make a nice social dog. If your dog bites somebody, your dogs put to sleep and your put in jail. The longer your doggies stay alive the higher your points. In this mode all you have to do is press the right buttons so your dog does the right thing. If you press the wrong buttons more than twice the amount of money you get paid gets reduced.

SHOW MODE
For show mode, it is nice because you can breed your favorite dogs and skills do not matter. You can make it as cute or ugly as you want! In show pup mode you try to win best in show for, as many times you can. You might just want to look at some of the more obedient dogs if you want to be able to train them to obey faster and better. In show mode you have to press two buttons in a good rhythm or the dog will run badly.

OBEDIENCE MODE
In Obedience mode, you try to raise the most obedient dog, you can breed to win with a mutt or just train a purebred. You have to keep your dog happy and of course, you have to train it. Remember what buttons you press for each trick so you do not tell the dog to speak during a competition when you want him to sit. If your dog does to many things wrong you will be laughed at and you will never be able to compete in the competitions ever again. Of course, you can always just start over. You can also just run out of dogs and money.

BREED MODE
In this special mode you just have a dog or two. You can breed them, play with them, and that kind of stuff. You get money by selling dogs. The only way you die is if you run out of dogs and you do not have enough money to buy a new dog. You can also get money in this mode by taking the dogs pictures. Then certain qualities in each picture make the picture worth more money. This is the only mode you can take pictures in though. In this mode all you need to do is know what buttons do each trick and which button is for the camera.

OTHER STUFF
You can find the perfect breeding dogs by looking at their statistics. The statistics include speed, jump, obedience, social, friendship, life, and size. The statistics are rated from zero To 100. If you get on the high scores list the breed you made can be saved (if you want it to) as a breed you can start out as. You get to name the breed to! To get your high score you add your best consecutive wins and amount of wins together. If you were in therapy mode there is no adding and such. It would also be cool if you could use voice recognition.
