Star Trek Online Game

This game would be based on the Star Trek Universe. This game would have the steepest learning curve ever created. *WARNING* This game is only for dedicated Trekkies out there. Ok, first character creation. First you should select your race. Races should include Human, Romulans, Vulcans, Klingons, Half-Klingons, Cardassian, or whatever else. Then you should select your character's proficiency. Proficiencies should include Engineering, which includes basic warp field design and repairs. Then dependant on your race your should get to choose which planet to start on. On the planet, you can either start your own little business and make money and buy your own ship if you want to or, you can sign on to another persons ship. This is where it gets good. I want to see fully designed ships. I want to walk through the ship on my own but, for time's sake maybe the turbolift could be limited to the major places and not the off decks like the living quarters. Here's where the learning curve comes into play. Let's say I'm flying through space in a Soverign class (Enterprise-E), and we encounter a band of Romulan pirates. Now, all the other players on the stations need to be proficient in what they are doing. And it's not just the character's proficiency but, its the players proficiency. Like I want to raise shields. I can't just click on the tactical console. I have to look at the console and know what I have to do. Or, let's say were all flying and we run into a nebula. The nebula unfortunately damages the ship. Now the engineering team's players have to know actually how to repair the systems using the tools provided this means that the players have to learn basic warp drive design.

I would also like to see real physics. Like for those who saw ST: Insurrection you could invent the Riker manuver or whatever.

The camera should be first person for the most realism. You should be able to beam aboard other ships and then it could change to a more STV: Elite Force kind of style. The boarding party will have to search the decks and kill the crew or take them hostage.

I asked a company and they said that a game with this level of realism would take a decent sized company such as Origin about 3-5 years and about 10-20 million dollars.

True, complicated games like this is no easy task to develop. I do like your idea about repairing your ship, that you can't just click on repair but you have to solve a puzzle, this type of features should make up for some very interesting and exciting gamplay.
