DKC 4 Ever - Platform game
Well, it's more of a game engine than just a game, but it's DKC-based.
It takes the sprites, BG schemes, music, and popular effects of the DKC
trilogy, including several animal buddies, the classic "bonus games that
had prizes like 1ups", power-ups, barrels, and essentially, everything
you loved about the DKC games [minus the bosses you'd just beat once and
forget about], and puts them into a "fully customizable game". And each
of the four "Country Kongs" are playable, each with their own special
ability that lets them reach places the others couldn't.
With it comes a simple format world map, about like Yoshi's Island, in
terms of level patterns/paths, with symbols that place themselves, corresponding
with the level's BG scheme. Each level can be created up to 30 screens
in any direction, within totalling 80 screens per level. This can include
bonus stages along the lines of obstacle courses, chock full of power-ups.
The "game" type bonus levels [like "guess which barrel", "spiral spelling",
"barrel cannon barrage", etc.] are pre-programmed and pre-formatted. They
include all the popular "stereotype" bonus levels from the first DKC.
The baddies, platforms, barrels, power-ups, and even starts and exits
can be placed anywhere at will. The BG schemes can be instantly interchanged,
as the BG sprites are in their own particular format. And each could have
a "Cranky Clue", for Cranky to hint you about during his rants. In fact,
you can edit your own Cranky Rants!!! In fact, using the Cranky Clue as
inspiration, very interesting levels could be created effortlessly.
Between Donkey's Power Slam, Diddy's new Wall Jump, Dixie's Helicopter,
and Kiddy's Water Skip, you could place bonuses almost ANYWHERE with one
of them being able to get to it. And in a well-designed level, it could
be impossible to score everything in one trip through, giving each level
intense replay value, and level-editing making the game infinitely expansive.
"DKC4Ever" could be the most truthful title for a project like this ever.
And I would be thrilled to make the first "demo" level/game design for
a program like this.

DKC4Ever sounds like great idea, and if you
could download/upload levels from the Internet, (people editing levels
for each other) it would be even better :]
