Pokemon 3D
Will be like Pokemon Stadium and Pokemon Red, Blue, and Yellow all
mixed with 3D graphics and a view from behind, almost like mega man legends.
You'll play as either a boy or a girl trainer. You'll name yourself and
choose your appearance. You can choose from Charmander, Bulbasor, or Squirtel
just like in the original pokemon Red and Blue. But your first chosen
pokemon will walk around with you, just like in Yellow. As you catch more
pokemon you can have up to three pokemon following you at a time, just
put those 3 at the top of your list. No, there wont be any Silver or Gold
pokemon just the Red and Blue.
Battle styles:
While your walking around in tall grass you can see pokemon figures running
around. When you get into a battle with a wild pokemon you'll go into
an alternate screen with an arena that matches the area your in. When
you come into a trainers line of site you'll see a caption that says hey
above there head and they'll run over to you. They'll say there thing
(there phrase differs depending on your gender) and then battle you. Trainer
battle arenas are the same as wild pokemon arenas, the arena resembles
the area your in.
How to battle:
In a wild pokemon battle it will show you and the wild pokemon. Then you
can see all your pokeballs and the pokemon in them. Choose your pokemon
and then begin battling. Your character throws the pokeball and the pokemon
comes out. Now is the cool part. Since this game is for N64, you get to
use the joy stick to actually move the pokemon around in the arena. Your
attacks and PP's are on the side of the screen. Each of the attacks has
a coorosponding C button (up, down, left, and right C). Hit the C button
to engage that attack. The A button is used to jump in the air. Certain
pokemon can not jump or move due to weight or how big they are, or others
just don't have the right structure. Here is a list of pokemon that cant
jump
Onix, Geodude, Gravler, Golem, Seadra, Horsea, Snorlax, Venasaur, Charizard,
Blastoise, All pokemon with wings, Metopod, Kakuna, Ekans, Arbok, Nidoqueen,
Nidoking, Ninetails, Parasect, Diglet, Dugtrio, Arcanine, Abra, Kadabra,
Alakazam, Machamp, Belsprout, Weepinbell, Victrybell, Tentacool, Tentacruel,
Ponyta, Rapidash, Slowpoke, Slowbro, Magnemite, Magneton, Dewgong, Grimer,
Muk, Shelder, Cloyster, Ghastly, Haunter, Gengar, Exeggutor, Koffing,
Weezing, Kangaskan, Goldeen, Seeking, Jynx, Tauros, Magikarp, Gyrados,
Lapras, Ditto, Mewtwo. Whew, that took a long time. Anyway, the B button
is used to reduce the damage from attacks, only enemy attacks, not recoil.
While holding down the B button you cant attack or move. When the battle
is over and the wild pokemon has fainted, your pokemon gains experience
and your pokemon returns to its pokeball and you return to your adventure.
When your pokemon gains enough experience to evolve it starts glowing
white and growing into the form of its next stage. If you don't want it
to evolve, press the B button at any time during its process of evolution
and your character will say stop and the pokemon will stop evolving and
you two will have a hugging moment :) Special attributes of the game Certain
pokemon like goldeen your thinking "how can a goldeen battle" well a goldeen
will just float in the air, same with seaking. Pokemon like voltorb and
electrode will just roll around. Pokemon like geodude, koffing, weezing,
weepinbell, victrybell and all of those pokemon who float just move around
in the air but cant jump. As for status changes. When your paralysed you'll
freeze up every once and a while and cant move for a few seconds. When
your asleep, your asleep until the apposing pokemon hits you a few times.
When your confused you cant move as fast and your attacks can sometimes
backfire on you. Finally, when your poisoned you lose HP every once and
a while. Different items have different actions. The trainer is always
visible in a certain area of the outside of the arena, and when you hit
start to select options like changing pokemon, running away and using
items and you use an item the trainer will do something. Here is a list
of actions with different items: Potions: the trainer runs up the his/her
pokemon and sprays them with it Status Changing items: Sprays the pokemon
and status it cures is gone Pokeflute: Trainer plays the flute and the
asleep pokemon wakes up Pokedoll: Trainer returns the pokemon to its pokeball
and the trainer throws the pokedoll out
Outside of battle items:
Bicycle: Screen goes black and then comes back on and the trainer is on
the bike Rare candy: Selected pokemon comes out and eats a piece of candy
Fishing rod: Trainer sits down by the water and the screen goes blank,
comes back on and the trainers fishing rod is in the water TM's & HM's:
I have no idea how these things work, you can figure it out Nugget: Go
to a pokemart and sell it, duh Escape rope: Screen goes black, comes back
on and trainer climbs up a rope, screen goes black again, comes back on
and trainer is at the entrance to the cave, pokemon mansion, etc.
Pokemon abilities:
- Dig: Selected pokemon comes out and digs a hole in the ground and the
trainer jumps in, the screen goes black, comes back on and the pokemon
pops out of the ground and the trainer follows
- Fly: Selected pokemon comes out, trainer hops on its back and it flies
in the air, 3D map comes on and you move the joystick to your destination
- Surf: Selected pokemon comes out and jumps in to the water and the trainer
jumps on its back. while surfing no pokemon can be following you and you
move just like before only like your surfing
- Cut: Selected pokemon comes out and uses the appropriet part of its
body to cut down the bush
- Strength: Selected pokemon comes out and stands in front of the trainer
and pushes the boulder
- Flash: Selected pokemon comes out and emits a bright flash and stays
in front of you to light your way along with the three pokemon at the
top of your list
On my last note, all the terrain is the same as the Pokemon Red and Blue
games exept that it is in 3D. When you go into your pokedex you open up
the actual pokedex and use the joystick to scroll through it and look
a pokemon data. When you look at your progress in the options screen you
see your face, your money, your badges sit below that spinning and sparkling,
and finally your time. This game is obviously an RPG and is for the N64.
And i would give my entire collections of over 800 pokemon cards to have
this game made, BECAUSE I LOVE POKEMON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
as you can see. So please dont give this a bad review because i spent
a long time typing it.
