This game would involve building an airline. The whole scenario would be that you have to buy land, build an airport, do advertising etc. There would be places where you could have specials. There would be weather influences, emergencies, etc. You would have to purchase airplanes, and fit them out: ie. first class seats, seat spacing etc.. Hire staff, pilots, baggage handlers etc.. You could hire certified pilots, or even build your own training facility.. You could outsource your own food preparation, or build your own facility. There would be a mini market (stock market of different airlines).. You could run your own routes. Have different advertising venues, like newspapers, radio, web. etc.. Set the number of hours your pilots worked.. You could go in with a city and help pay to build an airport for prime gate space, etc. Or you could just rent existing gate space from airports. I figured there could be a map builder for users to build their own worlds.. This would be a lot like railroad tycoon, but with airplanes..
Oh, and of course this would be multiplayer :-)

Guess what, there is a game called Airline Tycoon. But I haven't played it so I don't know if it's similar to your version.

Actually you are correct about the airline tycoon game to a point.. Actually the day after I submitted the idea I saw it in a Microcenter.. It was called Airport tycoon.. I actually had to buy it since, I wanted to see if it was what I was looking for.. It was (kinda).. The airport tycoon game is more of a build an airport and (hopefully) they will come game.. You don't have to deal with flight paths, you can only have one airport to run, etc etc.. So I think an interesting twist would be a combination of things.. One Taking airport tycoon (which is a pretty good game), and mixing it more with a Rail Road Tycoon game/Transport Tycoon game. Where you can buy airplanes, rent flight paths, etc, Have cargo only planes, etc. Now to make this even more fun? Since some people would be more interested in running an airport as opposed to running an airline, you could have both in a multi-player arena. You could do either or both if you really wanted a challenge.. You could build up an airport and try to attract other online players to your airport. Or you could just have an airline, rent gate space, and make your flight routes.. Or you could do both.. or maybe buy land at an existing airport for your own terminal..
