!!Members Section Temporary Closed!!

Because of much trouble lately with our data base, we have decided to rewrite the whole script. In fact we have decided to rewrite the whole website. The bad news is that the game idea submission as well as the option to comment on other member's game ideas will be closed for some time. The good news is that the new Game Discovery website will be a big improvement over the one you see today. We also have another big surprise in the horizon so don't go too far.
If you want to help out you can take this small survey.

Also please join our new anime and gaming forum at ZTGD.net

See you soon,

cover Andrew Rollings and Ernest Adams on Game Design
Book

Reader Review: Having read "Game Architecture and Design", which I consider the best game design book written, I was anxious for the follow-up from Andrew Rollings. I was not disappointed. Overall, this book covers unique material, but is aimed more toward the less experienced game designer. It's a great companion to his first book. I highly recommend both books, and I suggest reading this latest book, co-authored by Ernest Adams, first, and then follow-up with the larger, more advanced book co-authored by Dave Morris. Together, they provide a comprehensive guide to making fun, successful games. A great book if you want to learn about the basics of good game development and game design. Scott Miller, CEO 3D Realms

Professional and Amateur Computer Entertainment Expo

Press Release – Official Announcement

We wish to announce the realization of PACEE (Professional and Amateur Computer

Entertainment Expo), which will take place at Escola Superior de Tecnologia, in Castelo Branco (Portugal), from the 31st of March to the 2nd of April, 2006.

This event is organized by the founders of ACEE, being a natural expansion of the original

concept – this time, both amateur and professional developers will be able to show their work andinteract among themselves and the public.

For the amateur creators, it's a fantastic opportunity to show the games they've created to the

general audience. By including the II official edition of ACEE, PACEE mantains the same

characteristics of this part of the exhibit, giving all their visitors the opportunity to see what is beingdone at an amateur level, also allowing the developers to observe the public's reaction to their games. For the professionals in this field, this will be a great opportunity for showcasing their work, beingalso able to exchange impressions about their games directly with the public.

Apart from the exhibit, there are also plans for several presentations on this topic.

Participating in this event won't have any entry fees, both for the creators and visitors. This way, along with holding PACEE in a region where events of this type never occurred, we expect to givecontinuity to the reasons that made us create ACEE: dynamize and boost the visibility of ludic software development.

Additional information about this event can be found at http://pacee.pedroamaro.com

On behalf of PACEE's organization,

Pedro Amaro
