Learn Game Programming
DeVry's Game and Simulation Programming curriculum will prepare you for taking on various development roles in the game industry.
Game Art & Design Degree
Westwoods’s game art & design program will teach you everything you will need to know before you apply for a job in the game industry.
The game would have two main characters, which you could choose either. It would have two discs, each with the two character’s stories. Obviously the two will have different experiences and story-lines, but will ultimately tie in together. The characters would include a male and a female. The male is Darin, and follows the path of the Protector. He is skilled with blades, and wears most armour. The female is Aladaya, and follows the path of the Sorceress.. She is skilled in the Arcane arts and wears robes and non-metallic armour. Traditionally, she uses staves and various daggers. Depending on the person you pick, you meet various other characters important to that main character’s plot line. Some or all of these NPC’s will have a major effect on the story if you choose to become friends with them, or enemies. The main plot for Darin includes the traditional evil force, known as Griffin, the leader of a renegade law wishing to control the tides of the universe and destroy the people of their world and create his own paradise from it’s "vile ruins." Darin must confront him and "persuade" him to sleep eternally. On Disc 2, Aladaya’s Story, Aladaya was a Elven woman summoned by Griffin to aid him in his war on Lithiria, their world. At the beginning of her story she is played as a naive sorceress who follows his orders. After she is enlightened she fights against him with the occasional aid of Darin. They unknowingly develop a relationship in their meetings and at the end of the game come together, though she is destined to die in the final battle. They share heart-felt and saddening ending movies.
This will be a free-roaming RPG with nearly no limitations to movement. It will also have a real-time fighting engine, such as The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind, but with more depth and combination attacks. You will also be able to integrate spell craft with your fighting style. Each character, minor or major, has his or her own fighting style. The world you interact with will be similar to the Elder Scrolls III as well. You have the option of being evil, stealing, and interacting with whomever you wish or whatever. Depending on how you react, your relationships will vary. There will be a common law in the two realms you can visit, both expansive, and will uphold the law whenever necessary. You will either spend time in jail, or bribe the guard depending on your charisma, even be executed if the crime is high enough. The people in your party, which is a maximum of four including yourself, will be involved in the punishment. You can switch to whichever member that is currently in your party at your own accord, but only at times when the story does not require you to be in control of the central character. As in Elder Scrolls III you can pay to have your weapons and armour enchanted, or create your own spells using gathered components or the spells you already know. Armour and weapons will be changed when donned, and affect your movement depending on the type and weight. The gold you carry also factors into your weight limit. While you cannot create your own character, you can add on to them by visiting certain shops that alter your appearance. You can purchase jewelry, tattoos, or even cut or die your hair. Over time, your character will change depending on how you treat them. If you do not perform many physically challenging actions, they will loose muscle tone and grow skinny and receive a strength penalty, and vice versa. Your hair and nails will also grow. Another factor you must consider is fatigue and health. To keep these raised, you must rest and eat or drink every now and again. Of course, in battle your health may decrease as well as fatigue, but outside your health continuously, yet slowly, lowers. Eating raises it again. Sitting and sleep help raise fatigue, as well as removing heavy armour and weapons. Weapons will be carried on the body, not in a "magical place where they are never seen but exist when needed." Weather types will also affect your fatigue. For example, rain will slow you down and wind will make you struggle to move forward, requiring more strength therefore lowering your fatigue. Experiance and levels will be handed in classic RPG form, kill a monster or complete a quest and you are rewarded with a certain amount of experiance, so that you may level up. At each level you will get spell options, skill bonuses, and a chance to create a new attack combination, depending on your status as magic user or fighter. You control each person in your party in this fashion, though if left alone the A.I. will choose what is done to the non-playing characters in your party.
