Hello Reader,
The following ideas pertain to a certain style/genre of Hack&Slash gameplay mechanics and "gothic" genre games. As stated by a good friend, " BloodRayne is su. DevilMayCry is per. Put match the two up and you get . . . TADA-SUPER!!!" I thought idea was a great suggestion. If you need persuasion, please continue.
Devil May Cry thus far has had a sexy devilish female co-star. BloodRayne meets these standards perfectly. She is the woman Dante has been looking for. The controls I suppose should stay the same. For a proposal on how to create a game with two main characters is stated below.
It would be posible to handle such a powerful duet with the same idea as ResidentEvil2 for the Playstation( Same basic plot. Two different stories. Two different discs). Doing this much would allow players to play both characters on the same game or choose there favorite character. A story idea for such an idea lies below. It is relatively short and painless so do not worry.
As seen at the end of BloodRayne, The Brimstone Society had found Rayne's father and being so as a very dangerous threat. As I haven't played DevilMayCry2 at the time of this writing I take it Dante is still a "detective/assassin" for hire. Someone hires Dante mysteriously for a job which leads him to find that Rayne's father is preparing for an apocalyptic uprising of evil. Dante who arrives at Rayne's father's mansion and has a 'control explaining' fight with a gatekeeping boss, (similar to Cerberus in status and job but much easier to fight and defeat). Rayne who returns to Brimstone Society headquarters to find Chaos(a terrible creature and the state of array) after a 'contol explaining' fight Rayne follows Chaos to her father's mansion, where the gate lies open.
The rest of the story is up to the writers should you accept this proposal. Further ideas are that like in Bloodrayne, the story will advance beyond the mansion to different parts of the world, so as to avoid spending around five to seven hours in the same place(this leads to lower replay value and soon boredom after victory over said game a few times). A few smaller suggestions include new "devil weapons/transformations" for Dante. Gun pickups for both characters as seen in BloodRayne. *Please do not make us search for ammo* as seen in the Resident Evil series. The gun systems should perfectly replicate the BloodRayne gun system. As with Rayne's "Rage Attacks"(an attack pertinant to that of a bloodrage but without entering Bloodrage.) Dante should have a kind of attack that has the effectiveness of his 'devils' but only draining a small percentage of the Devil Gauge. It would also be a nice addition to Dante's story if he gained new combo additions to his sword, fist etc. attacks with each boss and/or sidequest completion that allow more damage without the pause inbetween. A conclusion lies below.
There are many gameplayers who enjoy the blood/gore, hack&slash mechanics, gothic style, spooky games. If you look at Resident Evil's success, find the percentage of people who enjoy Resident Evil-esque gaming and aforementioned hack&slash controls you will find Devil May Cry/BloodRayne fans. Thank you for your time.
