------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Structure
After the training and starting missions you are offered a choice of Ice Octopus or Tremor Bison.  After you beat them you have a choice of Phoenix or Ariel, and then you have Storm Hawk's area and the final stages.
If you approach an enemy charging your Plasma Buster and hold R1 while jumping in the air you can perform a diving slash that will break their defense and then fire your charged shot.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Gamma
Next generation reploid
Gender: Male
Type: General
Height: 175.26cm
Weight: 81.648kg

Average defense, offense, and speed but a very good jumper, he can wall jump, double jump and some other tricks like that.
Basic equipment:
Plasma Buster MK.3: 150%-200% stronger than MMX's buster, charges faster can be used in any environment with little effect on its power range or speed and can be charged on the run.
Plasma Sabre: fastest melee weapon in the game 150%-200% stronger than Zero's sabre.
Basic armor: good balance of protection and weight.

Acquired weapons:
Electric Buster
From: Alpha
Somewhat weaker and slower charging than Plasma Buster but can temporarily stun enemies then kill them.
Secondary effects: Right arm changes appearance, your armor gets gold/bronze highlights and your melee attacks get electric effects, pressing L1+R1 forms an electric force field around you while draining your cyber
energy(CE).

Megaton Gauntlets
From: Primaton in mission 2 of Ice Octopus's area
Your second most powerful stand-alone melee weapon but the slowest melee weapon in the game.
Secondary effects: You notice on screen that your gloves and boots change, you can't use ranged weapons.  You can still equip a weapon though, secondary effects and abilities are the same, needle laser, homing
missile, and Magma bomb are unusable.  You can fire blasts DBZ style in the mode of the weapon though using charged blasts drains your cyber energy.

Ice Buster
From: Ice Octopus
Same strength as Plasma Buster but freezes enemies then shatters them with melee attacks, kicks ass with Megaton Gauntlets or Buster Blade, and when upgraded to level 3 pressing L1+R1 freezes all enemies on
screen (CE must be full or close).
Secondary effects: Right arm changes appearance, your armor gets blue/white highlights, melee attacks have ice effect.

Homing missiles
From: Tremor Bison
Though powerful they can't be charged but they can't miss.
Secondary effects: Right arm changes appearance, uses cyber energy so you can run out of them and your armor gets yellow/brown highlights.

Magma Bomb
From: Lava turtle in mission 3 of Phoenix's area
Very powerful and charging releases multiple bombs, slowest rate of fire in the game.
Secondary effects: Right arm changes appearance.

Pyro Buster
From: Phoenix
The strongest ranged weapon available to you but slower firing rate and slower charging than the Plasma Buster.
Secondary effects: Right arm changes appearance, your armor gets red/orange highlights and your melee attacks have fire effects, also the magma axes power is doubled.

Needle Laser
From: Fierce Stingray in mission 2 of Ariel's area
Can't be charged and is the weakest single shot weapon in the game but has the fastest rate of fire and longest range.
Secondary effects: Right arm changes appearance.

Pressure cannon
From: Ariel(Phoenix's Sister)
Shorter but wider range than busters with higher uncharged power than the Plasma Buster.
Secondary effects: Right arm changes appearance, your armor gets white/aqua highlights.

Buster Blade
From: Storm Hawk
Though slower than the plasma sabre your most powerful melee weapon, it fires an attack wave whose effect depends on the weapon equipped.  Needle laser, homing missile, and Magma bomb are unusable.
Secondary effects: You can see Buster Blade on your back on-screen, your armor gets black/gray highlights.

Acquired armor:
Dash Boots
Where: Space station, required to reach first battle with Omega.
Your running speed radically increases when L1 is pressed, uses cyber energy.
Secondary effects: Your on-screen boots change.

Thruster Pack
Where: Hidden area on the space station.
Improves Zero G mobility, allows unrestricted Zero G mobility when equipped, when used with Jet Boots you can move faster by pressing L1 but drains you cyber energy.
Secondary effects: You can see a backpack on-screen.

Spiked Boots
Where: Mission 1 of Ice Octopus's area.
Gives you better traction on ice.
Secondary effects: Your on-screen boots change.

Scanner helmet
Where: secret area Mission 3 of Ice Octopus's area.
Better lock on, slightly reduced CE use, provides short range onscreen radar/map in the upper right corner of the screen.
Secondary effects: The appearance of your helmet changes.

Jet Boots
Where: In an armor capsule at the end of the second mission of Tremor Bison's area guarded by 3 Rock bots.
When equipped increase running speed by 50% and improves Zero G mobility.  When L1 is pressed you skim along the ground at around double your normal running speed, uses cyber energy.
Secondary effects: Your on-screen boots change.

Heavy Armor
Where: Secret area before fight with Tremor Bison.
Twice the protection of your basic Armor but slows you considerably, doesn't matter in Zero G though, and pressing Square+L1 releases a swarm of mini-missiles(can only be used 3 times a mission/life).
Secondary effects: Your armor color stays the same but looks heavier.

Pyro Armor
Where: Secret area in mission 2 of Phoenix's area.
Halves fire and heat based damage also increases power of Magma Axe and Pyro Buster, and pressing Square+L1 unleashes a firey shockwave across the screen(CE must be full or close).
Secondary effects: armor changes to red.

Wing Pack
Where: Semi-hidden area, unguarded, before the fight with Phoenix.
Cool looking wings in you armors highlight colors, they function in a similar manner to Dante/Lucia's Aerial heart, if used in concert with Jet Boots you really can fly but it drains cyber energy
Secondary effects: You now have wings on-screen.

Hydro Boots
Where: First mission of Ariel's area.
Improve underwater mobility when equipped.
Secondary effects: Your on-screen boots change and if you press L1 you speed up by using cyber energy.

Secondary effects: More angular looking that standard armor Colored silver, pressing Square+L1 unleashes a massive energy blast that uses a lot of cyber energy.

Shield Pack
Where: Secret area in space station 3 close to the beginning
Halves damage taken, pressing Circle+L1 shunts 50% of your cyber energy into making you temporarily invulnerable(30 seconds(CE must be full or close).
Secondary effects: when you are hit you see a bubble flash around you and your backpack changes.

Boss/Zero: faster than you but his buster isn't as powerful as yours and he doesn't charge it at normal difficulty.  You can't charge your buster yet and don't have your plasma sabre so stay at range, there are several
areas that you can reach that he can't.
Reward: Plasma sabre.

Training mission 2: More advanced avoiding and more things that require wall jumps and double jumps.
Boss/Mega man X: Not as fast as you but a little stronger and his weapon charges, but he doesn't have a plasma sabre.  If you stay at range you will not have the advantage even though you busters uncharged shots
are stronger than his, however you sabre diving slash is very effective if you can pull it off, Mega and Zero are almost as tough as the bosses but not quite.
Reward: you gain the ability to charge your buster.

Cut scene 1: Shows Beta and Mega man X fighting their way thru a power plant, then Mega is trapped in a room with some big bots and Beta is fight his sister Alpha who is infected with the Neo-Maverick virus.  Beta is
destroyed by Alpha and Mega is almost destroyed.  Shows Dr.Delian telling Gamma that because Zero is already on a mission and every other maverick hunter is dealing with those infected with the Neo-Maverick
virus Gamma is the only maverick hunter available to fight Alpha.

Mission 1: Generator plant.  Numerous electric based enemies and the big bots you saw in cut scene 1, they are guarding a switch that you had better throw or you probably won't beat Alpha.

Reward: Electric buster.

Cut scene 2: Shows the Neo-Maverick virus fading from Alpha and her thanking you for freeing her.  Then shows Zero fighting Omega and getting his ass handed to him and getting carted away.

Mission 2: Space station 1.  Some areas have gravity and some don't, the defenses aren't a problem unless you hang around too long.  You need the Dash Boots to reach the central block and fight Omega.
Boss/Omega: Faster, stronger and better armor than you.  There are some environmental things you can use to harm him, though he stops playing around when his life gets to half and slashes you to death,
surprisingly he stops short of killing you smirks and teleports away.
Reward: none.

head.
Reward: Ice buster.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Tremor Bison-infested military base.
Mission 1: Red canyon.  Beware of falling rocks and watch out for crumbling ledges.

Mission 2: Deep crevice.  Going down don't fall, when you get to the bottom you have to fight three rock bots that are guarding an armor capsule which holds Jet Boots.
Sub-boss/Rock bots: Individually to very tough, but three are a challenge.
Reward: Jet Boots.

Mission 3: Cave maze.  More rock bots and a confusing maze guard a secret factory.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Phoenix-set around and in a hidden orbital launch facility.
Mission 1: Fire in the hole.  Volcano climb and entrance, one of the longest levels in the game watch out for lava spouts.  Sparse but formidable enemies.

Mission 2: Volcanic descent.  Get in the volcano without getting incinerated, finding the hidden Pyro Armor helps.

Mission 3: Magma lake.  You've got to the bottom but Phoenix's Lieutenant intercepts you.
Sub-boss/Lava Turtle: Big, shell can't be penetrated so you have to wait until he peeks out his head.  Avoid his fire breath, and when his life gets low he starts lobbing magma bombs.
Reward: Magma Bomb.

Mission 4: Hidden launch platform.

Mission 5: Fire in the sky.  Fight Phoenix on the rocket, be sure to find the wing pack.
Boss/Phoenix: She is your size, but a lot faster and has powerful fire attacks.  The Pyro Armor helps a lot here, go back to mission 2 and get it if necessary and have the Wing Pack/Jet Boots combo.
Reward: Pyro Buster.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Ariel- fire based weapons are a hindrance in this area, just equipping the Electric Buster hurts you, but the Ice Buster is twice as powerful.
Mission 1: Sunken ship. Some dry areas, only ones on this area, you also find the Hydro Boots here.

Mission 2: Reef war.  Watch out for the spines, and laser equipped mines.
Sub-boss: Fierce Stingray.  Medium size very fast with several very fast firing lasers, use Ice Buster or Plasma Buster.
Reward: Needle Laser.

Mission 5: Sunken lab.  Swim thru labs and avoid dangerous chemical spills and mutations.
Boss/Ariel: Phoenix's sister, just as fast and powerful as Phoenix and not happy with you.  Get down her pattern quick cause changes it several times and nail her with needle laser or Ice Buster.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Storm Hawk-infested weather control station.

Mission 2: Hail hall.  Slippery ground, remember the Spike Boots, You first fight Storm Hawk here and use cover as the hail damages you.
Sub-Boss/Storm Hawk: Faster than and almost as strong as Omega with powerful but slow charging attacks.  Have the wing pack, and use Plasma Buster or Pressure Cannon and Plasma Sabre as he reflects
lasers, is immune to elemental attacks, absorbs electricity and can block anything else.
Reward: none, he leaves when his life is 50%.

Mission 3: Heat wave.  Watch out for the Chameleons, find the Super Armor somewhere here.

Mission 4: Rainy ascent.  Climb to the top of the weather control station but watch out for lightning and swooping hawks.

Cut scene 4: Shows Gamma accessing the weather stations computer and turning it off then finding more data on the Neo-Maverick virus including its creators name.  Dr.Jonas Wiley the great-great-great-etc grandson
of the original Dr.Wily and has a record of Omega meeting him.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Final Missions-Back to the space station and a lab.
Mission 3: Infested spaceport.  Blast thru the hacked defenses and rouge bots to reach the shuttle and travel to the space station for a final confrontation.
Boss/Zero: Infected with the Neo-Maverick virus Zero is faster and stronger than normal but still isn't much tougher than normal and you have special armors and more powerful weapons now.

Cut scene 5: Zero freed of the Neo-Maverick virus and severely injured giving you the access codes to the station and warning you about sludge then fainting.

Mission 4: Space station 2.  Better defenses than before but now no gravity so it pays to use Heavy Armor and Thruster Pack, the boss ain't Omega though.
Boss/Lord Sludge: Shapeless blob of stuff, only ice based weapons work on it, the Buster Blade's charge is too slow but the Megaton Gauntlets work great, freeze it and shatter it 4-6 times depending on difficulty.
It can slime along any surface including you and its trails are deadly, stay in the air and power dive one you've froze it.
Reward: Key to inner core.

Mission 5: Space station 3.  The inner core has gravity and stronger defenses, so while Heavy Armor is good for taking damage you can't afford the slow down and find Shield Pack.  Equip Basic Armor, or Super
Armor with Shield Pack/Jet Boots for the final battle with Omega.
Boss/Omega: He ain't holding back and you better know you manuvers or you'll get sliced apart.  Now his attacks include a life draining beam, black fog and telportation so besure to have the Scanner Helmet
equipped.
Reward: Final data on the Neo-Maverick virus and the location of Dr.Jonas Wiley's lab.

Mission 6: Dr.Jonas Wiley's lab 1. Ground floor remakes of old Mega man and Mega man X bosses, the Bass guarding the elevator is pretty tough.
Sub-boss/Bass replica&Treble replica: As tough as Mega man X or Zero and has Treble the wolf to help him but more predictable, exploit that.
Reward: Elevator key.

Cut scene 6: Elevator ride with Gamma checking his gear and Dr. Jonas Wiley taunting him.

Mission 7: Dr.Jonas Wiley's lab 2.  Second floor.  His lab is farily well defended and there are some surprising mutations lurking about.
Boss/Dr.Jonas Wiley: He's wearing power armor of his own design, he could probably give X or Zero a run for their money but a wimp compared to Omega.
Reward: On normal difficulty Beta, his missions and Hard difficulty.  On hard difficulty alternate costumes, Alpha, her missions and insane difficulty.  On insane difficulty, Hyper Gamma mode in which cyber energy is
unlimited and a "family photo" that shows Alpha, Beta, Gamma and Dr.Delian.
