Learn Game Programming
DeVry's Game and Simulation Programming curriculum will prepare you for taking on various development roles in the game industry.
Game Art & Design Degree
Westwoods’s game art & design program will teach you everything you will need to know before you apply for a job in the game industry.
I would like to start by saying, that this game will be very large and complex, but also very entertaining.
This game is a combination of GTA 3, Gran Turismo 3, and Tokyo Extreme Racing. You are a person (guy or girl), who has gasoline in their veins. The entire game takes place in a fictional city, Grand Metro.
You are given $10,000 to start with. You can then go to a car shop, and buy your car, or you can go out on the street, and try to steal one, however, if you get caught by the police, you get arrested and have to pay a fine to get out of jail. After you get a car, you can tune it with any remaining money that you might have, or you can take it out on the street, and challenge other street racers to a race. Other street racers will be marked on a map. You will be rewarded with money, for winning a race. The money earned will be based on how much faster, or better your rival is. So, therefore, beating a guy with a Ford Pinto won't award you much money. There will also be an army surplus store where you can buy guns, the only guns that you will be allowed are a pistol, or a shotgun. No rocket launchers. You can get a permit for an added fee.
The police will play an active role, in this game. If they see you with your gun, you will be asked to present your permit, if you don't have one, it's off to the pokey, if you do, you will be free to go. You can also choose to blow the cops away, if you don't have a permit, however, this will raise your felony meter, similar to GTA 3. If you are arrested, you will be fined, you have to pay the fine in a certain amount of time. Once you have a vehicle, you can drive around town, but if you get caught street racing, or running anyone over, you will be pulled over, your vehicle will be impounded, and you will be fined again. If you pay the fine you get your car back, if not get a new car.
You won't be limited to street racing, and stealing cars, you can also modify your car, and enter races, such as rally races, endurance races, and circuit races. The prize money for winning these races will be much larger, obviously. The whole idea, is to make lots of money, once you make a certain amount of money, you can move on to another part of the city, where there will be other cars to steal/buy/race. You can do it legally, illegally, or a combination of both.
While you are in the car, you will have 3 views, inside, chase near, and chase far. While you are outside the car, you will only view yourself in 3rd person. You can change weapons, run, jump, and bail out of your car. Damage can be turned on/off.
