This game is like FF Tactics but at the same time I do not consider it an RPG. The story begins with NASA sending out a AI driven probe called Comso Comet 1 to land on a passing comet. The landing is successful and Cosmo Comet 1 takes samples of the comet. Fifteen minutes after leaving the comet and heading back to earth, NASA looses contact with the probe. The samples contained a deadly and intelligent alien bacteria. The bacteria takes control of the probe when the computer is scanning the samples, and now the probe is driven by the bacteria. Seventeen days later Xco Labs Base 1 has a crisis of phenomonal proportions. Xco is a top-secret base that even the president doesn't know it exists. It runs experiments and tests with radioactive and biological means. The probe crashes into the center of the base, sending the bacteria everywhere throughout it. The bacteria fuses with the test subjects to create a hybrid of flesh-eating deformed humans and animals, and it even takes control of cyborgs and machines. This base would be the first level.
NASA is contacted before the bacteria has time to completely spread throughout the base. They tell them what happened and NASA contacts a special force known as GENEVA. There are five main character and five minor characters, and you get several chances to recruit three people out of a huge selection. The recruits don't have anything to do with the story for they are there to make the game more fun since it will have more playable characters.
Instead of Jobs there are Regiments. The three regiments are Infantry, Medical, and Special Ops. Infantry are all around soldiers, Medical are doctors and nurses that help the wounded, and Special Ops are half and half. Infantry are divided by sub-regiments, known as Battalions. These are Infantry Battalions are Foot Soldiers and Artillery Soldiers. Medical is divided into Battalions too - Doctors, Nurses, and Surgeons. Special Ops are divided as well - Stealth Soldiers and Battle Aides.
And instead of Level Ups, there are Ranks and Promotions. When you gain enough experience your Rank goes up by recieving a Promotion. You gain experience like you do in FF Tactics, which is by performing certain actions in battles. You will gain double the experience when you attack and kill an enemy as you would if you attacked it and did not kill it.
