I am a hardcore "first-person shooter" fan, and I have games ranging from Doom, to Duke Nukem, to Perfect Dark. If you have ever played Perfect Dark, then you should know of the options that allows you to play against "simulants", as well as other human players, in a scenario which you create. What this world needs is a game that is dedicated to this style of gaming. In "Arenas", you are able to play against other people, numerous computer-controlled bots, or both at the same time. The options for the bots will include character, difficulty, and even how they fight. The player can set teams for scenarios such as team deathmatch, capture the flag, etc. The available characters will be of a very large variety, which will allow for a properly created scenario; zombies could be included for Resident Evil scenarios. To futher establish the creative edge in this game, a good selection of levels would be available, including everything from an urban setting to the wild outdoors. Now, just to make sure that you don't start thinking to yourself "Why should I buy this game when I can get one with a similar feature plus a story behind it", this game would include the option of building your own levels; after all, there are alot of games with this type of program. This feature would use the "shell" of an arena and allow you to place obstacles, weapons, ammo and so forth. Stationary gun emplacements could also be included in the levels. In a "shooter" game, the weapons are the spices which add flavor. The available weapons would include numerous types of pistols, shotguns, rifles, sub-machine guns, rocket launchers, grenade launchers, and explosives. Melee weapons and futuristic weapons would also be included, as well as different devices to help you in battle. Beyond the multiplayer options you would have numerous challanges which you would complete to earn new characters, weapons, and levels. These challanges would have the usual goals of "stay alive for three minutes", or "make a certain number of kills". As I said before, these preprogrammed challanges would open up new ooptions for the player once they are completed. This is my idea for a good "shooter" game. Although it is not a new idea, due to the fact that we have seen this in many other games, it would still be unique thanks to the extremely large variety of options that are available to the player, or players. If you like to choose where you fight, who you fight, and what you fight with, than this would be the game for you.
