Quad In Quad, you play as [Undecided] Quadruple, a soldier in the US Army. As you start the game, [Undecided] goes to a nuclear factory in Iraq, trying to prove that they are manufacturing war bombs. As you enter, he falls into a pit of nuclear waste, and he sinks into it. However, it turns out the waste is not nuclear, and it is actually waste from a cloning machine. A cutscene appears, and you see four left hands pop out of the waste, grabbing a ledge and pulling four identical copies of [Undecided]. [Undecided] then returns to the base, and he is welcomed with oddity. He is sent to the president to be checked out, and the president (and secretary of defense etc.) decide he is OK for work. You, from then on, try to defeat Iraq soldiers. In Quad, your "buddies" have three options of AI; copy me, stay near, and roam AI. In copy me, the clones move the direction you do, sneak around where you do, shoot who you do, jump to where you do, etc. The move and attack actions are performed at the same time you do them. However, jump, sneak, and other special actions tell them to move the place you where and activate the command facing the same direction. In stay near, the clones will stay within about 12 feet of you (your height twice laid out) and shoot people who come near. Like in copy, when you jump, they will jump facing the same direction go at the same speed. However, this does not apply to sneak, fire or anything else; they will do these while they are near you on their own desire. In roam AI, they will roam with an AI equivalent to a boss's level, jumping away from grenades, firing only under good circumstances, etc. If you go from roam AI to stay near or copy me, and there is a jump between you and them, they will jump so as to reach the target, in the way which will reach the target, that you could make. One of the interesting parts of Quad is that if you have multiple controllers/computers you can play multiplayer in single player. If you have two controllers, you can play the missions in "multiplayer" with one AI clone each. Otherwise, all AI clones go to player one. In multiplayer standard mode, you each control a team of a variable number of clones (set before start of match) with many of the same concepts as single player and various video games (such as Red Faction II and Jedi Outcast). Think of the Red Faction I and II maps, and the Jedi Outcast maps. All sorts of stuff to sneak around with. As an option, ‘Player Flags’ may be turned on or off, which create pointers over a player whenever they are within visibility. Now this may sound useless, but its not. If a player is a distance off, it helps, if a player is hiding behind something and poking out just a bit, it helps, and if a player is sniping, it helps. Also, Pick-Ups will be available; they will include ammunition, guns, medication kits, clone pack (brings a clone back to life), grenades, and some power-ups like Infravision Goggles (Green-sight) and Kevlar Vest (50% reduced damage). But no matter what, Quad will be realistic; no slow-motion, no shoot-through-walls guns, no invincibility, just reasonable power-ups. Additionally, turrets and vehicles should be available, though supplying little defense. The turrets would fire machine-gun style, and vehicles would not have mounted weaponry (except for shooting air vessels). Dropships would allow you to fire out in mid-air, and Science Vessels would have nets and lights. Bikes would allow you to shoot, as would motorcycles. Just go with anything that realistically supplies little or no armor; something guns can shoot through; no more than a 25% hampering, because with Kevlar and 25% hampering, only 37.5% damage gets through, and that is plenty enough. The reason which Quad would be fun is because it would play like many FPS games out there, but have squad-based gameplay, and a more balanced gameplay style; it wouldn’t have the Red Faction II-style Invincibility or Slow-Mo power ups. Also, it would be a great game for those hard core strategic players, learning how the games AI thinks, and then using it, the same way you would use knowledge of a bosses AI. Finally, it would supply hours of fun to the sheer unique gameplay; pulling all guns from enemies, and sending (basically) your buddies to take the hits. In Quad, it wouldn’t be a direct hampering to lose one of your squad members, because you can’t change to control them. I am sorry that I have not come up with the first name of the main character. A recap of functions: - Team Squad-based Action. - Various permanent (yet reasonable) power-ups. - Shooter Gameplay. - Vehicles and Turrets. - Multiplayer Singleplayer Game (see main body) - Unique, yet recognizable gameplay. - Three AI Modes: Roam, Copy Me and Stay Near, each with various specialized functions. Come on, please tell me what you think!
