Thirst for Blood is an Action game where the goal is to suck the souls out of people through their necks. But, that in itself would make a boring game. I?ve always wondered to myself, ?Do vampires have hidden cults? Do they fight each other for blood??. Who cares? Games are nearly never real. In Thirst for Blood, you first start as a vampire who is alone. You have to find a place to stay. If you sleep in the woods, people may become suspicious, so you have to try and find at least an apartment. Then by night, you have to sneak out, and suck people out. If you take all their blood, they die, and you are instantly regenerated. If you only infect their blood, they become a vampire also. If you want to start a clan, you need a place bigger than an apartment. When you kill people, take their money and pay for another place, or maybe something else delightful. Still, as a vampire, there are rules:
- Never go into a supermarket, unless it is an emergency (there is garlic there)
- Never enter a church, unless it is an emergency (holy people have the power to kill you)
- Try to stay away from wooden stakes, crosses, holy people, garlic, and people who think you?re a vampire
- Do not stand next to mirrors. People who realize you?re a vampire will want to kill you)
The ways you can be killed are listed above. Garlic lets out an odor which you can see in the game as green, and if you touch it you die in 10 seconds. Holy people fight you, by throwing stakes at you, which you must avoid. If you kill a holy person, by turning into a bat and touching him, he dies. Crosses slowly deplete your health, when they are in your view. If you stand next to a mirror, chances are, someone will realize you have no reflection, and will want to kill you. Of course, there is the ever important last rule:
- Never, ever, ever go out into sunlit areas.
If you go out into a sunlit area, you die instantly. No questions asked. When you form a cult, other vampires will help you when in trouble (holy battle, troublesome victim, etc.) if you let them into your cult. There are other cults that you can join, but it is normally hard to uphold their standards. If another cult doesn?t like yours, they will attack you. A vampire war is hard, but when won, you gain each ability (there are 6 cults, 6 abilities) below in the order you get it.
- Turning into a bat
- High tolerance for crosses and garlic
- One-time freebee for getting staked
- Fake reflection
- Flying
- One-time sunlight freebee
As you can see, the last one is highly sought after. In 2 player mode, you can either work together, or fight against each other. As you can see, Thirst for Blood has a lot of potential.
P.S. This game is not at all like Bloodrayne, in case you were wondering.
