The Background is the city. We control.....Rats. Online 3D game, battle over territory dominance with other players controlling other rat packs (Like MMORTS) We dominate over rat packs and rat territories, we control our pack's foods and resources, we make allies with allied animals (cat the most hardest to ally)...maybe we can ally with birds and allow them to carry our rat friends soaring into the sky... The sewers, the ceilings of people's homes, the underground cellars etc. may all be our pack's settlement area. Rat pack battles: Like human army, we have rat knights, rat skirmishers, big rat, small rat, fast rat etc. We need to scavenge for food over areas, this might mean our enemies would be over a wide range of humans, cars, cats, dogs, owls, other rat packs controlled by other players etc. Maybe can add RPG elements into it....dont know.... Game area as complicated as in real cities...pipelines, puzzle like areas to explore and find food and resources etc. Rats have different habits and species, choose the one that most suits your style of gameplay. Dog cat mouse chase, 200 united rats swarm on one straying cat etc. Humans are the most dangerous enemy, if your pack makes too much noise or leaves behind too much trouble for the humans, its usually massacre... Stealth and moving silently as to not being discovered by humans, owls, cats etc. is an important skill to master. Members of your rat pack may sometimes be dissatisfied at your rat leadership and decide to do something bad about it... In the beginning you start as a new elite mouse soldier doing some simple tasks for the AI rat pack to gain popularity so that another rat of opposite sex might be attracted to you so that you might start having own rat pack members....or you may leave the pack and do some heroic feats to increase your popularity amongst the rat community so that other rats might follow you and appoint you as their leader... See our city through rats' eyes.

this game sounds fun and it's not like its been done much before(except maybe the nastalgic game lemmings,but than again lemmings aren't rats) what i almost see is a comical rat combat stragety game with graphics and humorous voice clips that resemble the war craft and star craft games. the urban enviorment has many possibilities for adventire from sewers to junkyards. yeah. something about this game is gold.

But seriously when i read this i had to chuckle, although it is very good the concept just threw me off for a bit.Would rats have backrounds eg orphaned from family of 237 etc,escaped lab rat,you could even have some mutated rats with superspecial ability after scientifical testing,exposure to radiation,crossbreeds etc.Yeah this definately has potential although i would like to know how would rats interact and would they look like rats,or would they be animated cartoon style,would they stand on their hind legs?theVEE

Actually, I've seen a similar concept at shockwave.com, a game named "Ratinator". In that particular game, you play as a single rat [equipped with the most unusual weapons (mini machine guns, pistols, etc.)] wandering through mazes (supposively sewers) and hunting pesky vermin. All in all, you have a great concept. The fact that it is online and multiplayer gives it an edge (cooperation w/other players should be enforced, not suggested). I wouldn't say you've struck gold...rather, you're still digging for it!
