Learn Game Programming
DeVry's Game and Simulation Programming curriculum will prepare you for taking on various development roles in the game industry.
Game Art & Design Degree
Westwoods’s game art & design program will teach you everything you will need to know before you apply for a job in the game industry.
You take the part of Tom Sharpe, commander of Operation: Strike Force, one of the most dangerous jobs in the world. Five years ago you were an undercover cop, one of the best in the LAPD, you were one of few selected for a top secret job, to become part of Operation: Strike Force. You were to carry on with your job in the LAPD and not tell any one of the force, not even your family. You could live your life out normally fully paid, but in extreme circumstances you would be called up to the strike force to tackle terrorists and criminals as the last line of defence. You are the only one left from the original platoon after the other members were killed in action, but the best cops from around the contry have been recruited as replacements. Recently you have been called up more recently because of more frequent and hostile terrorist threats. Back as a cop you have been following leads about a shipment of weapons leaving the country possibally being sold to terrorists. You follow your leads and suspects and eventually come across a plot by the government to use the Strike Force overseas in an attempt to infiltrate defenceless countries. You must make sure that your bosses in the Strike Force aren't on to you and at the same time try to get to the bottom of the plot using your privilages as an undercover cop. Gameplay is in third person mode and you can play both as a Strike Force officer and an undercover LAPD cop. As a cop the play is alot like that in The Getaway, in that you can use walls as cover and there aren't any meters at the side of the screen, to give it that realistic feel. You must drive around in your car looking for suspects, then interrorgating them for information.
As a Strike Force officer you must control your squad like in socom: navy seals. Most of the gameplay in this mode takes place in the streets of Los Angelese and you can use your environment to your advantage e.g. taking cover in doorways/behind squad cars. You have the decision of starting a shootout or positioning snipers on the roofs for extra cover, you could even climb the fire escape yourself and leap over the buildings to find a good position to defeat your enemy.
Being a highly trained professional you have alot of powerful weapons at your desposal:
Desert Eagle .50AE - good powerful handgun, standard weapon for Strike Force.
P229 - standard handgun for the LAPD, not very accurate or powerful.
M16 - reliable sub machine gun
SG-552 - very high accuracy and damage with a long range a good choice of weapon.
Grenade Launcher - does what it says ( launches grenades).
M240 - powerful, accurate, long ranged machine gun, almost perfect weapon.
Air Pulse Rifle - newly designed military weapon, needs small time to charge then fires a pulse of energy capable of launching a man 30-feet across a room.
Because of the secrecy of the operation you do not know the names of your teammates but use codenames instead. There are various enemies to tackle, from cleverly planning bank-robbers to international terrorists with chemical weapons.
The further into the story you get the harder the missions get as your bosses begin to suspect your knowledge of their plan, and decide to send you on death defying missions, so you must make sure you expose you before you get killed.
