It's me again and I had a great game idea.

  PLOT:

This one starts out with Dante and his now teenage son going to an island near Ireland because of a strange call.  they enter an ancient castle (I'm not trying to copy off of DMC1, trust me) expecting to find their caller, but they end up running into a giant wolf demon, it hits Dante's son and knocks him out, but Dante quickly kills it.  He then gets his son up and continues on.

After a while they find themselves in a large library.  Dante's son finds an old scroll that catches his eye.  He picks it up and sees that there is a chain connected to it.  Thinking it might be a trap he quickly draws the Sparda sword.  A door opens in the wall to reveal a large mirror.  Dante's son turns around but then a hand grabs him, he turns around to see Nelo Angelo coming out of the mirror(I'm still not trying to copy, I just like the mirror idea).  Nelo draws his sword and slashes down, only to hit a scurrying demon trying to bite his leg.  Wondering what the heck is going on, Dante questions his brother's behavior.  Nelo explains that Mundus had gained control over him after he killed their mother, Eva, and if he were in his original state of mind he would have helped Dante from the start.  When Dante asks why he was in the mirror Nelo says Mundus locked him in there after Dante beat him.

Now Nelo Angelo is on your side!

 CONTROLS:

Despite what anyone says about it, I love DMC2, so I'm sticking to its controls.

  jump: x button

 dodge: circle button

 slash: triangle button

 guns: box button

Dante will get a new sword along with Rebellion(DMC2), and Alastor.  The new sword is Double Slash, and with a tap of the R2 button, the two blades will become two swords that he can weild at the same time!

Dante's son will get the Sparda sword, Vendetta(DMC2), and the Iferit Gloves.

This part I thought was cool:

During all levels Nelo and Dante's son or Nelo and Dante will follow you and fight along side you.  There's one level where it's just you and Nelo are hacking up baddies in an alternate dimension.

Also, after you beat the sixth level(out of 26) you will have unlocked Easy Mode.  If you choose to not go to Easy, when you beat the game, you will unlock Nelo Angelo.  He will have a DT(devil trigger) gauge too.  In his normal state, he looks like he did when he last fought Dante, a human face, but with different armor.  His demon form is that of the original Nelo Angelo in DMC1 where he gets taller and gains the demon face, along with his original armor.

Now enemies, bosses, then the rest of the plot.

Some of your enemies are familiar like Marrianettes and Sin Sythe, but here are a few new monsters.

Stone Beast: these beings will fight unexpectedly because they are one with the stone walls.  If you don't want to waste time hitting them everytime they come out of the wall, lure them into an area with different walls or an area that has none.  You will notice them when you see bricks in the wall moving.

Shadow: when your running or walking and your shadow is moving in a different way than you, stop right then.  The shadow will come off the wall or floor and start to attack.  They'll typically use guns or a sword, and aren't too difficult to take down.

Screeches: these are the minions of the dead demon Griffon(DMC1).  They come in small flocks, ranging from 5 to 10.  They can dive and stab you with their beaks, and have small use of electricity like Griffon.

Now a list of some of the bosses.

Dead tree: this is a tree that has been infected with an ancient celtic demon.  It can shoot razor-sharp thorns at you, and will whip around one of it's branches.  You have a slight advantage because it stays in the ground, but you first have to get past the roots it shoots up.

Wolf demon: remember the giant wolf Dante killed at the begginning?  This is another one of those, but much more powerful.  It will slash at you, bite, and has a roar that will blow you back several feet.  Your only advantage is that being a fast moving animal, the wolf will take brief periods to recuperate.

Cathedral window: on one of the levels you will enter a large Cathedral that has a giagantic window. Before you know it, the image of a demon appears and the window breaks, reforming into a massive glass monster.  It can shoot shards down on you, and concentrate sunlight and fire a beam of heat through its hands.  After you defeat it, it will break into many sections that will become common enemies you will face later in the game.

Now, I'll finish up the story.

I decided to have a level set-up were you choose your character for each level, rather than have multiple discs.

From around mid to late in the game, Dante will become less and less aproachable, and will come to the point of almost going completely to his demon side.  Dante's son and Nelo discover that it is because Dante is being drawn to the only thing that can match his power...

The last two levels take place in open fields with various barns and stables, some of which have horses in them.  Eventually after a few fights and some walking, you will come to a lake.  A voice will say "This is not meant for you, it's just me and him."  Dante recognizes this voice as that of the caller.  Before he knows what happened, Nelo and his son are gone, sent back to the Devil Never Cry.  Now, Dante is in the demon realm, the same place he was last time.  He then sees...himself, at least, he thinks he does.  This Dante almost resembles the Despair Embodied(DMC2), but also looks like him.  His thoughts are confirmed when it begins to speak.

" Do you recognize me? Of course you don't, you narrow sighted fool!  When you fought the Despair Embodied, it had hit you enough to splatter some of your blood on the ground, and when you blew it to pieces, some of those pieces came in contact with that blood, and over time, that new blood built upon itself and made me, more powerful than demon or man!  The only way to end this, is to join with me, or kill me.  Can you do that, I don't think you can!  You would destroy your demon side!"

Dante then says, "What makes you think I have a problem with that?"

This fight should be like fighting a mirror, but your moves are not as powerful.  This may take a few tries, but a game that's too easy isn't very fun.(DMC2's mistake, though I still liked it.)It is advised that you are familiar with your moves, because demon Dante will use them in many combos.  Do NOT turn into demon form, because demon Dante will draw off your energy that way.  Hopefully, this will add the challenge of keeping you from relying on your transformation.

When you manage to beat him, a scene will show Dante cutting demon Dante in half.  This will cause an explosion that knocks you back in front of the lake, and now you have to run.  Dante will grab one of the horses and you have to keep it from tripping or else it's over.  You will then come to a cliff that causes the horse to stop and throws Dante over it.  He has lost his powers due to the destruction of his demon side, and is expecting death, but then finds himself in the backseat of a...byplane!  With his son at the controls.  Dante's son looks back and smiles, and they fly off for home.

..........(embarassed silence).......(slamming head down on keyboard).........(trying not to cringe)........ Sorry, really, I'm not trying to be a jerk. It's just that DMC was one of the greatest games ever to hit the PS2, and you've taken it and chopped it into little bitty pieces. Please, show Capcom some respect. I don't see why I should waste my time trying to give you advice, but I'll give it a shot. First of all: What the hell is up with your plot? It has absolutely NOTHING to do with the previous DMC games! As for Dante's son...well...did you know that Capcom actually didn't want anything serious to go on between Dante and Trish? She looks just like his mother you know... Anywaaaaay...I'm very sorry for sounding so harsh but I really can't find any originality in this game. EVERYBODY PLEASE: STOP MAKING SEQUELS TO DEVIL MAY CRY! I know, I've written one, but we need to give the poor DMC developers a break. I think they have their own ideas for DMC.

It's me again, and I've got more criticism. First off, where's the game? You've mentioned a story and what the different discs will contain, but nothing as far as enemies, items, other things to pick up, levels, bosses, etc.etc. Secondly, with so many DMC3 ideas floating around here, why did you elect to make another? Tertiary remark,I think we all need to leave the DMC3 idea to Capcom. Though I don't think they could make a decent one either, what with DMC2 being the let down it was. Dare to Dream.

I must agree with my pals on this one, as this version of this "sequel" lacks a great deal of potential. However, although I agree that this idea should be left to Capcom's designers, this major factor should not demoralize any future ideas of yours, as I'm sure you've noticed the many other attempts to design yet another edition to the DMC saga. If anything, the above comments should provoke you for an opposition, or atleast lure you into striving to make this one better than the rest. Don't give up, for if we all thought our ideas were failures, there would be no game ideas at all. heh :)

.............Ok. I see this isn't perfect and it needs some work, but, no need to be harsh. I've decided to take out several things, so feel free to look. Though, heck, this can't be the worst version of DMC3, can it?

Also, if you wanted to know, sparda590, the line Dante says in DMC1 after Mundus says he will return is, and I quote,"Good, and when you do return, give my regards to my son, will ya?".

I think your game idea for dmc3 is ok but here's a few suggestions. 1: Put more about the main story 2: Say what you pick up and the enimies. 3:I kinda liked the idea of his son so I think you should keep it. Other wise looks pretty good. I loved DMC2 Also.

I like that game so much , well i wont talk too much about my opinion ,here it goes Dante and his son were in peace and quite until that night Dante's son was captured by Griffon so Dante knew that the enemy is riviving again so he picks up his sword and his twin pistols and goes for another journey , when he will ride his motorbike Trish will apeare to him tell him that his son was took to the under world ,so here you are able to play with Dante which his weapons are alastor, ifrit and his twin pistols while Trish will fight with you in some missions .Dante's moves are (Alastor) air raid, air hike, round trip, stinger and vortex,(Ifrit) kick level-13,meteor,magma drive, rolling blaze and inferno,i want to add a move in DMC1 when Dante was taking Ifrit, the gloves were flying as if it will punch any thing that will stand infront of it,so Dante can release his gloves and they will keep on locking at the enemy like round trip.lets talk about enemies 1st boss is simple to shadow that takes any shape that fights it,example like Dante,it has guns and swords,it can also transform into demon just like Dante ,2nd boss is liquid which if you fight him with your sword he will be sliced into 2 part and so on, if you keep on fighting it with sword there will be more of him, only Ifrit can put an end to it,3rd boss the despair emboded he/she was killed by Dante so his/her blood was mixed up with Dante's blood and other demons and devil's blood which gave him/her chance to rivive and become very strong,he/she can be divided to the blood he/she mixed with like Dante ,other demons and him/her self, when they combine they form large demon which fires powerfuly fire ball simple to meteor, when Dante will go to save his son,he will find his son against him, there is something which controls his son but its so strong,it will take you while to destroy it,when you destroy it,Dante's son will be free, from here Dante's son is playable.so they dont easily go home ,Dante will be suprised,he will find Mundus rivied again with argosax ,from here you are playing with Dante's son and trish, but you must be fast because they have also life cause if one of them is killed your mission is failure, then when you defeat him your last mission is to escape from the under world, the ground will be destroyed so you will transform into demon and just fly,you will find enemies around you so you will have to kill some of them before the time runs out then you will return home with Dante's son.

No more sequels

I am not specifically targeting your idea, but i think people on this site should stop making sequels for existing games (especially very good ones). Making an original idea or an idea based on a movie-based property etc. allows a person's creativity to flourish and come up with new things. I feel that trying to make a sequel to something you didn't create in the first place is like saying you can't come up with your own ideas so you're using those of other people. This may or may not be the case, it depends, but that's how i see it. Being able to play as Nelo Angelo is definitely a nice touch, but that's about it. Devil May Cry 2 ended with Dante traveling to Hell, so appearing in a 3rd game with his son seems weird, and you just talked about the wolf demon attacking out of nowhere and it didn't seem to fit. As for the Trish thing, Dante is like James Bond, he gets the girl but doesn't stick with her too long (i believe Capcom said as much and they plan to have a different female character for each game). For the record: Devil May Cry is one of the best games ever made in my opinion (the best PS2 game besides the GTA's), DMC 1 is much better than DMC 2 (fact not opinion) but the control of 2 was a bit improved in some ways. In truth they should probably make people forget about DMC 2 if DMC 3 ever comes out, get rid of Lucia, Matier, Argosax, all of that, and bring back the Dante with the sometimes corny but entertaining tough guy attitude. Even make him the only playable character, but make that game kick serious a$$. All that's left to say is keep trying. Bad ideas on this site are caused by lack of care and effort rather than lack of talent in most cases, and yours is FAR from the worst on Game Discovery. So much should be done with DMC and i really can't see anyone, not even Capcom, doing what needs to be done. It's a shame.

Even though Dmc2 sucked, capcom should(which its already been confirmed) bring back the original series. In the end of dm2 dante is stuck in the demon world, following the footsteps of his father which was told by lucia. Its obvious that dm1 and dm2 took place maybe a year or 2 in the time line, so maybe trish and dante had a thing for a little while, or maybe they still did in 2 but dante was just called for a mission, remember at the end of one they were called, maybe they got seperated, but whos to say that after a big battle with the god of the underwordl mundus that they didnt have a child. The story should be as follows. Mundus the god of the underworld was sent back to the underworld by dante, but evedently sparda was sent to the demon world along with dante. Dante should meet back up with his father sparda. but however thet cannot return to the real world. When trish has a kid from Dante whhich i think they should name him Marasak. Trish passes down the Sparda which was given to trish in dm1. Remember the sparda is the only way to access the underworld. The demon world and the underworld in my opinion are diffrent. Argasax is a living entity which is a being that is made of of everything which a god should be, but dante beat him and the true form of the god thedespair embodied. So Marasac goes back to malle island in hopes to open the gate to the underwordl and find a way to the demon world to retrieve his father and grandfather with the use of the sparda. However Mundus did sy that he would return and rule the world. Opening the gate to the underworld with the sparda releases Mundus onto earth. Missions 1-8 should be Marasax entering the demon world and freeing his family. When they return to earth, However Mundus has taken over the Planet. So three playable characters are now available for play. Dante, Sparda himself and marasax. Argasax has nothing on Mundus. The last 10 missions envolve the the three family members removing Mundus for good. Being on earth he is still powerful, but mortal, and with the powers of the three demon slayers, Mundus doesnt have a prayer, oh and i think the old style of dm1 is great, being able to fight enemies like phantom 3 times before they die adds more realism and depth to the game. Thats how i think dm3 should be. With dm1 gameplay.
