Terminator 1: The Fight for Survival

The story:
It’s been eight years since Sky-Net launched its massive Nuclear strike, John Conner, has risen out of the ashes and is fighting back, we have heard of a new prototype Terminator called the X-2000, that is so advanced that not even our detectors can pick them up. John Conner has sent me and a few other soldiers to try and find out information on this new model. If we do not succeed in these missions all hope is lost. Even now after so many years of fighting we are still having a hard time finding ways to destroy them, and if this new Terminator succeeds, everything we fought for has been a waste. We faithful followers are all but a few, we strive to see the end of Sky-Net, and we strive to survive.

The Levels

The levels in this game range from all out attack, destroying bases, sabotaging transportation vehicles, to setting up ambushes. The levels in this game are not timed; the level is completed when you have finished all of your objectives. At the beginning of the levels you can pick what weapons you want, each one has different powers and range. You can only carry three guns, and four tech toys. Anyway the levels are made up off complete interactive 3D worlds, that you will be able to explore, any building of your choice can be explored as well, you can even damage the buildings, you can light a building on fire, break windows, you can recruit people that you see if you want, your fellow soldiers are not controlled by you, instead they act on their own, they will never leave you in a level, but they will fire at enemies if they choose to.

The Menu
The menu is a simple design, it has Start New Attack, for the start button, it has Repair and Supplies for the option button, and for the load game button says Continue the War. The background of the menu is New York City in ruins, you will see a few soldiers retreating to the left, while Terminators and other robots come from the right firing their pulse guns, and rockets. This scene is looped so it will never end.

Level 1: The Siege
The Terminators have been attacking our base for hours now, they are trying to break through our outer wall, which is heavily armed with our troops, you and your men, have to go and help hold them off while the civilians escape through the back. No one is sure how many cyborgs or Terminators are attacking us, but from readout there are at least over 500 terminators and cyborgs attacking us.
The level starts out with you being told what to do by your Captain, after he finishes telling you were to go, you and your men have to make your way to the outer wall which is being pounded by enemy fire, as you make your way to the wall, you will see wounded men all around moaning and crying for help, you will see destroyed buildings, and parts of the wall being blown off. When you finally get there you will have to get on top of the wall, and because the steps have been destroyed you will have to find away up, after you find the ladder and climb on top you will have to get in a well protected spot, so that you cannot get shot so easy, your men will spread out around you. Once you find a spot you will need fire down at the terminators, the only problem though is that they have fighter planes and advanced tanks attacking as well. In this level, you must no matter what keep the terminators at bay until the civilians escape, after they do escape, which should take around 15 to 20 minutes, you and your men will have to destroy all the files that are in the General’s office, because they hold Vidal coordinates to were the other human base is located.
After you have completed that objective, a small movie clip will play showing the human soldiers falling back, and the terminators advancing through holes in the wall. You now have to try and escape before you are killed, because you will be outnumber 30 to 1, so its useless to try and fight. You have to go out the back exit, which is located in the brushes by the sick bay.
After you have escaped you will see a long group of civilians walking away from the base, you and your men tell them to run, because the terminators have broken through and they will be out here in a matter of minutes. You then have to lead the civilians to the other base which is located on the other side of the city, you will have to lead them through backstreets, and through destroyed buildings, Terminators will be attacking you and your group the whole time, while you find your way through the city.
When you are finally at the door to the underground base, four terminators will attack you from behind, before you and your men will be able to fight them, they kill over twenty civilians, after you kill them you may enter the base, at which point you will find out that your captain has been captured. After that the level ends.

Level Two: The Rescue
The level starts out with you and your men finding out that your captain has been captured, but Intel has found out that he has escaped somewhere over in the west side of the city. He is an important member of the resistance and you need to find him, before the terminators do. After you’re debriefing you and your men head out to an old beat up van which is parked in a garage, you now have the choice to either man the 50 cal. that has been bolted on the roof, or to drive the van in search for your Captain. After you decide, what you want to do, you will then head down streets searching for him, after about fifteen minutes of searching, and going down, dozens of streets, one of your men will say that he thought that he saw someone running into a building, at this point, you and your men will get out and search for him, all of the buildings are interactive, so you will have to split up your men. Your captain is hidden in an old hotel, which is half way destroyed by the bombings. Once you or one of your men find the captain, you all have to head back to base, in the van, but Terminators have shown up, you have to man the gun, while a soldier drives the van, you will have to fight off over thirty terminators, and at least three tanks. If and when you beat them, you will be about three to four blocks from your base, but you do not have to worry so much you will only see a few more terminators that are old versions, which has been found to take massive damage by regular bullets. When they are finally dead, you will see off in the distance your base entrance, when a enemy Helicopter will attack, you will have to shoot it in its engines to destroy it, because it has to much armor platting on its exterior. When you finally destroy it, you will then arrive at your base, as soon as you get into the base, the captain will thank you and then walk into the Generals room to talk to him, after the door closes to the conference room, the level ends.

Level Three: A New Threat
The level starts out with your General tell you and your men that the Captain has found out that there is a new Terminator model that is untraceable, even dogs can’t pick them up. Luckily the captain found out were some important files are about the new model. They are located on the East side river, in an factory that is used by Sky-Net to produce terminators, you have to go and liberate these files, but while you are there you need to try and sabotage the assembly lines.
After debriefing, you and your men will pick what type of equipment you will need, after you are done picking your weapons, you and your men will then head out to the factory, but you will have to walk there, because there is no vehicle available at that time. As you make your way through the streets, you will hear gunfire and yelling off in the distance, as you continue to make your way through the streets you will see a lot of smoke up ahead, as well as explosions, dead bodies, and destroyed vehicles. The carnage, you and your men decide must have been from the gunfire, you had heard earlier. As you continue you and your men come under heavy fire by hidden Terminators, you will then need to hide behind the destroyed vehicles or debris and fight off the terminators. If you get past them you will have to find away over the river, because the bridge was destroyed years ago, and the water is highly toxic to touch. When you finally find away across the river, you will have to sneak past two towers that have terminators with long range plasma rifles. After you do that you will have to find away into the factory because the doors are bolted shut from the inside. After you find away into the factory you have to head towards the office, that has a bunch of computers, one of the computers has the files stored in them, so that Sky-Net can refer to them when it wants, after you find the office you will discover that there is only one computer, but now comes the hard part, you have to get passed the gates basically, or in other words you have to hack into the computer because you do not know the password to enter the computer, but with a little time you will hack it. The layout of the password is pretty easy, it will ask what the twelve-digit word really says, but the trick to hack it is to remember this info that I have written below.

When you see a letter of the alphabet, what ever the letter is, lets say that it is F, you will need to go back two letters so that it make that letter a D, you will then need to go forwards 5 letters, so that the letter is I, for an example word here is a few words;
Q LM, PEBIC, what those words are really saying is TOP SHELF so now you know how to crack the code, it should be no problem.
There is a simpler way; all you have to do is go forward three letters, to get the right letters.
Now in the game this info will not be directly given to the player, but if the player looks at the back wall they will see theses instructions to hack the password.

After you hacked the password, you will see the files in the top left corner called, X-2000, you will have to save these files on to a disk that is sitting by the computer, after you do this, you need to delete the files, just to cause troubles with Sky-Net, after you do this, you will then be attacked by four to six terminators, you and your men must beat these guys, and then plant grenades in the conveyer belts and machines to destroy them. After the bombs go off, about ten terminators will come running in while firing, just as a quick hint make sure your soldiers are behind things so that they are protected, anyway a massive firefight should breakout between you guys, because these terminators are heavily shielded, once you beat these terminators or if you beat them, you will then need to escape out the way you came in, be careful, because those snipers are now at full alert, when you cross the river you will be met by a group of resistance fighters that have come to help you, you will all come under attack by heavy sniper fire, but these snipers are not the ones in the two towers, these snipers are in the surrounding buildings. You will have to locate the snipers, by the flash of their guns, because you have no radar in this game. Once you eliminate the snipers, you will need to head back to base at full speed, because enemy tanks will be coming and you do not have the firepower to beat them. So you will need to run as fast as your character can, after you make it back to base with no trouble you have to head over to your General and give him the disk, at this point the level will end.

Level 15: Cobra One
This level is just a bonus level, you will not have your men with you, instead you are in a helicopter, an AH-1 Cobra helicopter to be exact. In this level you are to destroy a large factory that has been making a lot if high-tech Terminators, you will be equipped with a 50 cal. rockets and missiles, all are unlimited, the whole point of this level is just to destroy the factory.
Ground forces will be shooting at you, and you do not have unlimited health.
After you destroy the factory you will then fly back to base. After you land a movie clip will play, which shows you heading down the stairs into the underground base, as you disappear through the door, music will then fade in, and the picture will fade out, and then the credits will appear.

More Levels will be added.

The Tech of the game
This game is an action/adventure simulator, the graphics in the game will be excellent, all the techniques of lighting, detailing, and animation will go into the graphics.
The game play should run around 60 fps, so that it stays nice and smooth, it will also help so that the camera does not become jerky.
The sound quality should be sharp, because you will have to hear the sounds of footsteps to know if an enemy or friendly is coming.

The Display
Your display will be in 1st perspective, you will see your health over on bottom the left, your health bar will be colored blue, the more damage you receive the more yellow will appear on it, to your bottom right you will see how much ammo you have left, and how much you have left in your gun, you will have to manually reload your gun in the game, you will also see in the top right corner, how many men is left in your company, it will always start out with 12 in all, including you, when it says 1, then that means you are the only one left. There is no radar display in this game; you will have to find the enemies and civilians on your own.

The Animation
The animation will be top quality; things that will be animated are characters, enemies, vehicles, ammunition, fire, animals, smoke, water, and buildings being destroyed.
All of these animations should run at a nice smooth pace, no jerky motion or skips. Face features and body parts will also be animated, for instance soldiers will be able to smile or frown, their eyes might water when they are sad, they will blink when there is dust in their eyes, and so on.

The AI
The AI in the game will be superb, soldiers, enemies, and animals will all have AI, the enemy will know when you are attacking them, if you break a window or make aloud noise they will know were you are, you cannot hide in shadows, they will be able to see you there because they are machines.
Animals will act frightened when you scare them, or shoot at them, if they are wild animals they might even attack you.
Your fellow soldiers will be able to hide on their own, fight back on their own, and even really help you in a mission, if necessary they will sacrifice their lives, so that you and the others might survive.

Interaction
You will be able to interact with all of your men, including the civilians, you will be able to interact with buildings, animals, water, enemies, and vehicles that you can drive. Interaction will be, for example you can break windows in buildings or set fire to the buildings as well, you can also blow it a part, piece by piece. Enemies will not talk to you; accept for when they either capture you, or if you surrender. Animals are fully interactive, you can kill them, or they can bite you, and run away from you, they can attack and kill you if you let them. You will also be able to interact with vehicles, for instance on one level you will have to either drive the jeep, or man the 50 Cal. that sits on top with unlimited ammo.

Controls
This game can be made for the PC, the PS2 or the Xbox, whatever system you are using has unique controls.
Lets say you have the PC here are a few of its controls that you will use. (You can use a joystick to control your man!)
Shift: Reload
Ctrl: Secondary fire
Arrows: Move character around
Mouse: Moves your view around
Secondary mouse: The left mouse button is the fire button, and the right button is the secondary fire button.
Y: If you push and hold Y you can talk to your men, but not command them.

Saving the Game
Players can save their game at the end of each level and not I and not in the middle of the level, this might be a let down, but that’s is how its going to work. The game can have six saved files, of any size.

Not what I expected...

As I've heard of other Terminator games, I expected the player to assume the role of that of the Terminator itself, or even better, John Conner. This change in perspective (officer's) could be quite interesting. Kudos on the title, author, as it attracted me instantaneously. However, I am displeased with a few complications. My main critique is: informing the player of how long each level will take them to complete it; without the pressumtion that some players are greater than others. Limiting each level to a specific time is a different story. Punctuation and sentence structure is always a must. Other than that, you seem to be left with a catchy title and that of an interesting plot. The gameplay is not so much intriuging as I would've hoped; involving The Terminator and all. Props for introducing a bit of strategy, as I am definitely impressed with the "hacking sequence" you've included in Level 3. Above all, best of luck to the author.

Ok, I changed the title to T1, I deleted the info on how long each level should take, I went into a bit more detail on the three levels that I mentioned, and I put up the bonus level, which is small. Thanks for the ideas.
