MAIN STORY The game begins with a scene in a dark cell. The year is 1948.A young man is being held in this cell, strapped down with all sorts of restraints.A man and a woman walk into the cell, talking about their prisoner. They are scientists. At this point it is still unknown who they work for. They talk about their worries of their subject surviving their tests. The man scientist is all cocky and overconfident that they won't have any problems. The woman has her doubts. As they observe the prisoner up close,
Something happens. His entire body begins to shake and a strange aura surrounds his body. Before they can leave the cell, the male scientist's body is crushed by an unseen force and falls like a pile of debris. The woman escapes and locks the door behind her.
She runs away from the cell, the rest of the background resembling some sort of hi-tech laboratory.
Now the year changes to "present date". Your character is a young man, around 24 years of age, who decided in life to take the occupation of a thief. He is called "Rogue" but no one knows his real name. He lives in France but was born in America. When he was a child his parents were murdered in their house in America.
Having no other family, he was sent to an orphanage when only a few days later an old woman came and took him under her care. They left for France where she lived. The young boy soon met a man that taught him to be a thief. The first years were difficult but as he became 21, the hero started developing a sort of sixth sense that helped him tremendously in his "career". Now he works alone and is one of the most elusive thieves that have ever existed, since for over three years of thievery, the local authorities have never gotten the slightest indication of who he is.
THE GAME The hero's starting point is on a rooftop. He was assigned by a rather wealthy buisness-man to retrieve a pendant that was stolen from him. Rogue's mission is to get inside the Thieve's Guild and retrieve the pendant. He says he would have called the authorities to arrest these petty bandits, but the pendant was a gift to his mistress. The scandal would be enormous, but worse, his wife would kill him...So he says.
After the hero's task is done he returns the prize and gets his reward. When he returns to his home, he receives a call from his "mother". The old woman that adopted him, in fact, she tells him to come to her house. When he does, he get's dropped by a few dark clothed men.
To cut it short, the man in the beginning sequence is the hero's grandfather. He was abducted by a research team, located somewhere in Russia, hidden from everyone and even the goverment. Their researches were based on "Cerebral-Psychokinetic Enhancement". The hero's grandfather was one of many selected as guinea-pigs because they were in top-physical and mental health, hoping they would endure their experiments.
The woman that adopted the hero after his parent's death is the female scientist from the beginning sequence. She had abandoned the research many years ago. All of the people that were experimented on with the psychokinetic treatments were stripped of their memories. But the hero's grandfather escaped. He tried to live a normal life even though it was hard to contain his new abilities. The woman has observed from afar the entire family, and when the hero's parents were murdered she adopted him to look out for him, knowing that one day his grandfather's DNA would kick in. All of this of course is revealed later in the game.
Anyway when the hero wakes up he is in a secret laboratory in France, by another team that is following in their Russian predecessor's footsteps. They admit to him that the Russian Research Team was responsible for his parent's death. The hero escapes and begins his quest searching for answers about what is happening to him and who will have to pay for what happened to his family.
GAMEPLAY The hero will have different types of moves like jumping, crawling, climbing, running, swimming etc.He will have an array of preset moves and combinations of punches and kicks. Each move, by pausing the game, will allow the player to assign a specific move to a specific button. When the player gets tired of that move he switches it with another. The hero's main weapon will be a crossbow that he uses not only for killing his enemies, but will find different kind of arrows (paralytic arrows, explosive arrows, poisonous arrows, even arrows that are connected with a chord the hero can use to climb a wall )
But the main difference is that the hero will also use his psionic abilities. In the beginning, the hero only has a sort of innate "radar" allowing him to sense any living being that is close to him. Later on his powers will expand and he will use other powers. A cool one would be some kind of telepathic gaze where the player can see beyond corners and walls to see what's behind. Another ability will allow the hero to pick up interactive objects (chairs, tables, vases)and throw them to his enemy, either to slow them down or put them out. He would also be able to camouflage himself and seemingly become invisible so long as he doesn't move.
I could go on and on but I think you got the picture. Anyway, that's my idea. Hope you liked it.

I always loved the idea of psionics and all that. The name is nice too. I would like to see a game like this, but you should focus more on the psionic abilities. Anyway, good job

I really like the plot, anything to do with Psychic Abilities is got to be kool. You seem to have a good idea of what you want, you might want to mention his abilities more. And maybe have him use a small portion of his powers when he steals, but he still doesnt know the full potential of his powers or where they come from. Other than that it sounds great.

Would the game be in first or third person? I think it would work best in a third person view. But I can see first person also being done well. Great idea. I've always believed that the key to a good game is a combonation of great story and gameplay. It looks like you have both.
