This game would be called LIGHTSABER and it would be about you training to be a Jedi. Then after the training you'd have to do some missions that get made into a huge lightsaber filled action quest. The really cool thing though is that the game would come with a controller which would act like a lightsaber. You would hook it up to your Playstation, N64, ect and when you swung the lightsaber lets say up to the left it would do that same movement in the game. You could fight enemies with more moves. Slash open grates, doors and other things and block lasers from enemies. The lightsaber controller would also have an arrow pad and a jump button on the grip so you could move and jump around. If you bought another lightsaber controller you could have two player lightsaber battles with your friends. I think that game would do very good if there was one but there isn't so i'm giving the idea.

I like the concept of the game =) If you develop it some more even more people would like it and might even make such game. I would love slashing my friends totally in a lightsaber duel ;)

There is a controller I know of out there that could be used as the way you are suggesting. Let's see if I can find it..
VR ProAir, models VR9000 and VR9500

If you only hold the Lightsaber, you will need foot sensors you were so if you walk forward, then you do so in the game. Then you need gloves too, like you said about opening chests. But if you needed to turn around, you would have to turn halfway in real life, and then you wouldn't be able to see the screen! There are two answers to this A) You could have a mouth piece which when you say "Turn-Quarter Right you would turn to face the the right. You could say "Turn-Quarter Left" to turn left, or "Turn-Half Around" to turn halfway. B) You could have a Virtual Reality Helmet so this game would be a console all its own. You put the helmet over you and you would even half periphereal vision of the environments. But to quite honest, the game would take too much money to invest in, and wouldn't sell much because the equipment needed would be riduclously expensive. Only the die-hard, rich fans of Star Wars would bother with it. Its a good idea for the future world when VR Gaming will be like what NES was - I mean there will a lot of games and for good price.
