Learn Game Programming
DeVry's Game and Simulation Programming curriculum will prepare you for taking on various development roles in the game industry.
Game Art & Design Degree
Westwoods’s game art & design program will teach you everything you will need to know before you apply for a job in the game industry.
In this game you are a character that raises little monsters. The goal of the game is to: 1. Solve puzzles to gain money. 2. Use money to buy monsters. 3. Use money to feed monsters so they grow. 4. Use money to increase monster abilities. 5. When out of money, and there are no more puzzles to do to gain more money, you must enter your monster into the Monster Olympics. The Monster Olympic games include such things as racing, weight-lifting, gymnastics, swimming, and long jump, etc. You can enter one monster into the Olympics, or make your own monster team (putting the monster with the best abilities in each appropriate competition).
With the money you gain from solving the puzzles, you can buy animals, vitamins, eggs (which contain other little monsters), and food. You feed the monsters so they can get better and grow. When you feed the monster food ten times it grows older.
When you buy an animal, the animal makes your monsters better because the animals are magic. When your monster touches them, the animal releases its power so your monster gets better at certain things. For example, a gorilla gives you strength, a fish gives swimming points and a kangaroo gives jumping points. When your Monster sets the animal down, the animal disappears. You can only use the animal once. The animals are more expensive than food or vitamins. The animals increase skill points for your monster (points are like the skill level they are at, for example, strength: 176, Speed: 253, jump: 001, etc.). The highest your points can go per category is 999. The monsters start at zero in all the categories. When your monster takes the magic skills from the animal, it changes the way your monster looks. If you buy a fish, you could get a fin on your monster. If you buy a gorilla, your monster could get gorilla arms, etc.
Vitamins are cheap and only reward one point. Your monster does not change looks at all. You only increase points in the category the vitamin is for.
You can choose your own character at the beginning of the game. Your character is the one you control and the one that picks up the food, animals, and vitamins and gives them to the monsters. There are several different character types to pick from.
There are only a few puzzles to solve at the beginning of the game. You need to go to the Olympics with your monster (even if it is not very skilled in anything yet) to refresh the puzzles. After the Olympics are over, you gain some new puzzles that are worth more money. This is the way you improve your monster and/or make more monsters for the next Olympics.
You can choose your setting where you raise the monsters. For example a desert-looking place, a space station, a house, or even a winter wonderland. These monsters never die, but you can sell them for money if you need extra money to make another monster better. The more skills your monster has, the better price you will get for it. Then you can buy eggs to create new monsters. At any time you can pick up a monster and then click a button that tells you the number of points in each category. When you pick up a monster you can also name them.
When you Buy eggs you have to put them into the nest. There is a nest in each setting.
To go get puzzles to make money you have to go into the puzzle chamber. It is a door or a hole. There is also a puzzle chamber in each setting.
1. Food: Makes you grow older every ten times you feed them. Every ten times you feed your monster it also gets bigger and gains ten points in all the categories.
2. Vitamins: You can choose from a vitamin for every category. It rewards one point for that category.
3. Animals: New Looks. Five points in the category the animals in.
4. Eggs: Hatch on their own and then you get a new monster.
Key 1- Cheapest 4- Most Expensive
Here are the categories of points. When you buy an animal, you get to pick which animal you buy.
