Name: Battle Arena

Platform: GCN

Genre: 3D Fighter

Players: 1-4 (possibly online)

Controls:

A – Grapple

B – Strike

X – Jump

Y – Run

L – Counter Grapple

R – Counter Strike

Z – Special Strike

C Stick - Taunt

Basic Idea:

The basic idea of battle arena is it is much like a wrestling game but with a lot more novelty than most wrestlers. All the characters are original but are generally based on stereotypes such as bikers, ninjas, boxers and other assortments.

While I intend on having many characters (up to 40 or so) only half of them would be accessible from the start, thus meaning that people would want to unlock every character, extending the replay value.

Story :

The story is simple. The Battle Arena League is much like any other Wrestling League. There are fights, championships, rivalries and personas. This is much the same here. In story mode you are able to take your character through matches and try to go for the championships. Simple but the game isn't supposed to rely on the single player mode. It is a multiplayer party game if anything.

Gameplay:

Gameplay is a lot like other wrestling games. In a regular match the way to win is to pin your opponent, make them submit or knock them out. But, like in most wrestling games, there are a number of variety matches. These include your standard Ladders, Cage, Tables, Hardcore and Royal Rumble. On top of that there are a number of novelty matches made exclusively for this game. For instance, the Stash Match. The aim here is to steel 3 steel balls from your opponents Stash while making sure your opponent doesn't steel yours.

The controls are based around Aki's WWF No Mercy meaning that throws are pulled off by pressing A to grapple an opponent and then pressing a direction and A or B to do a move. To perform a finisher you must first raise your special meter by attacking opponents, then once it starts flashing you have to taunt. Then simply grapple an opponent and tap the Z button. But there are some changes. For one thing, you can jump. This adds a more arcade and light hearted feel to the game. Also, there is no opponent lock-on; it is fully free roaming, once again adding to an arcade feel. Last of all you are now able to perform a special strike by pressing Z. A special strike is performed just like a special grapple but without actually being in a grapple.

Arenas are all themed after their respective characters. For instance, the Ninja's arena would be in a Dojo while the Biker's would be on the street. Arenas would consist of a ring, slightly bigger than most normal wrestling game rings, in the center of the arena but around it the layout of each arena is different. So, the Dojo might have breakable floors and the street level might have motorbikes that you can use as weapons.

Characters:

Battle Arena relies on a huge selection of characters to add to the variety. Each character is based on a stereotype and has moves reflecting that stereotype. Below is a list of characters and their respective stereotype:-

Kenji – The Kung Fu Master

Ninja – The Ninja

Takeshi – The Samurai

Bruno – The Boxer

Bigshot – The Wrestler

Dr. Isce – The Evil Doctor

X-666 – The Robot

Slathers – The Reptile Man

Sir Seth – The Knight

Verin – The Evil Knight

Mr. Smooth – Tuxedo Guy

Beretta – The Pimp

Chloe – The Prostitute

JDC Yo – The Rapper

Steel Beetle – The Rock God

Sherlock – The Detective

Chainz – The Biker

Zog – The Caveman

Rashid – The Arabian

Sir Drinksalot – The Irishman

Angus McLeod – The Scotsman

King Pin – The King

The Godfather – Mafia Guy

Lucifer – The Demon

Jon Paul – The Pope

Johnny Law – The Cop

Arriba – The Mexican

Bluebeard – The Pirate

Captain Morgan – The Sea Captain

Colonel Abloom – The Soldier

Cletus – The Yokel

Shwinger – The Golfer

Hoopz – The Basketball Player

Crikey – The Australian

Yuki – The Japanese Schoolgirl

Biff Benda – The Muscleman

This is in no way the final version.

its alright, but a Creat a mode may help replay value. You also will need different types of matches. Wrestling fans will not accept any body other than the real thing in the ring.
