The 2 scientists died because Gada was released one day. Sanato was killed the exact day it happened and Zurom went insane and killed the people who survived that day. He was later executed in prison.
The people in the game can use magic but only 1 type of magic can be used when the person's temper gauge is up. This is called an APO. APOs are powerful potions that can kill just about anything mortal. Each person in the game has 1 sword and a different weapon.
Object of the game: After a scene in the game you will be able to play your character in a city or wherever else the organization may be at the time. You can’t skip scenes because they give you hints on where to go. If you forget what the people in the scene said you can always talk to people and get hints from them on where to go. If you’re in a town after the scene ends you can stop at stores to buy weapons or potions (note: you can go into every store or building the town has within the boundaries). You obligation is to find a level to go to (levels are hidden is the location somewhere) and then go to a different scene. Sometimes the only way to get to a level is to find an APO (more on APOs below) or weapon in the area. Other times you may have to find somebody to fight before or after going into a level. Potions and APOs: Most battles you have you will use powers. These powers come from potions. Potions are drinks you find with a character or you can buy a couple from a store in one of the towns. These drinks give the character you’re playing at the time powers that he/she can activate by pressing a certain button. The types of potions are: fire, earth, water, mind, healing, life, and strength. Fire potions give the character the ability to do things like burn the opponent when you hit them or lay a line of fire underneath them. Water potions give you the powers like freezing a victim for a limit of time or plashing water underneath (on them if their weakness is water) the opponent. Earth powers can be striking lightening on an enemy or hinding underground for a short time (there are more powers than this). Mind powers are abilities like taking another person’s power for a short time or reversing the effects of the power. Life potions simply give you more lives. The difference between a healing potion and a strengthening potion is that healing potion only keeps your health gauge full while strength potions make your powers and hits have more of an effect and are also rarer. (Note that healing, life, and strength potions can sometimes come in cases of 12.) APOs (anger potions only) are just like potions except they can only be used when the temper gauge is full. The reason is that APOs are so powerful that having the freedom to use them as you please could wipe out the entire area you’re in. APOs cannot be healing or life potions but can be strength potions in some cases. You can’t buy APOs from any store or country. Money in Cokiet: Cokiet is a world that only the two organizations know how to get to. The money it the two countries the ASM will travel across has the same money as in the U.S. The paper money is called a “vock”, but the plural form is “vox”. Coin money is “ment-silver”, and the plural form stays the same. You earn vox buy defeating enemies, you can sometimes steel vox from passing strangers. You will never earn one vock or one ment-silver, but you can sometimes steel few vox. Special Attacks: Each person has one sword and a different weapon they use against enemies. If you press they button used for flipping when you are close to an enemy and the character will a special attack. Most characters have a different APO as well.
