Yarfog 7 Racing Extreme

The year: 2560, place: Yarfog 7, the event: the biggest, baddest race course in the Orion arm of the Milky Way galaxy. Its 11/23/2189 in Yarfog 7 and in two days the Yarfog 7, 22nd annual race is going to heat up. You are a race commander , and must decide what ship & what crew you use. The race involves a deadly track through nebulas, around quasars, and above black holes. You must buy a ship, outfit it with powerful engines, weapons, and hire a crew to operate the ship.

The Race:

In the Yarfog 7 event, there are three classes. Capital Ship, Cruiser, and Shuttle.

Capital Ship races involve the longest segments, the largest crews and the most expensive and biggest ships. Cruiser races run at higher speeds, but must refuel and reequip more often, so the segments are shorter than the CS class, smaller ships smaller crews, but similar armaments and engine power to the Capital Ships. The Shuttle races are shorter, and the ships are small with an approx. 15 man crew. The weapons armor and engines are less powerful, and race segments are about a 1/4 light year. The Yarfog 7 is similar to a rally race, but is measured in light years rather than miles. Many ships with varying customizations compete with speed and weapons. If the ships that get in the way are bugging you, you can attack them with your weapons, and jet ahead before they can retaliate. There are many obstacles like black holes sometimes with quasars, there are nebulas on the course, and asteroid fields.

Racing:

You, the captain, must control your ship through treacherous areas of space, while fending off other racers, pirates, and the occasional alien ship. The bridge is the main part of the ship in which you will operate, however there are other parts to control like the engine room, and the weapons bay, where more precise actions can be preformed than when on the bridge, for example, you can finely tweak the output of you engines and such, as to ensure maximum energy efficiency when performing delicate operations around Black Holes. You must control the limited infrastructure of your ship, making sure the crew is happy, while not squandering the supplies. The courses of the Yarfog 7 races vary greatly, but the basic thing is that There are other Ships, that can attack you to keep them at an advantage, thus this means that it is wise that you do the same, and use your weapons to knock the opposing racers out of the running.

The Ships:

There are many ships in each class range. Each has some unique features, both good and bad, and looks. All descriptions are for stock models.

Capital Ship class:

Almost all the capital ships are surplus models from different Navy yards.

these have heavy everything, but most lack good maneuverability.

150-250meter length requirements. Two or more engines

Name: Incredulous class Battle Ship

Length: 230 meters

Max Crew Capacity: 200

Turret Mounts: 8

Missile Bays: 4

Main Weapons: 1 heavy nose port

Shields: Passive-Magnitude 3

Supported Engines:

Description: The Incredulous class is a medium class capital ship that is now available surplus from the United Sol Navy. They were used up till 2197 when the Intron class, twice the length and width was introduced. It can support a variety of weapons. The standard hangar has been reduced somewhat, and been replaced by added storage room. Easily characterized by its twin conning towers in the rear.

Name: Phoenix class light battleship

Length: 170 meters

Max Crew Capacity: 120

Turret Mounts: 5

Missile Bays: 2

Main Weapons: 1 heavy nose port

Shields: Passive-Magnitude 3

Supported Engines:

Description: The Phoenix is a scaled down version of the Incredulous. It has less weapons but retains the heavy nose mount and shields. It can’t hold some of the larger engines of its brother but makes up by being smaller and more maneuverable while retaining the defensive power. Was used by the USN

Max Crew Capacity: 210

Turret Mounts: 6

Missile Bays: 2

Engines:

Name: Pram I77-65

Type: Ion Emission Drive

Acceleration: 0-100 SLU in 1:10

Top Speed: 800 SLU

Size in Meters: W:5, L:12, H:5

Fuel: Ions extracted from He

Fuel Consumption: 5000 SLU per KG of processed He

Cost: Cr 15,000 each

Description: The I77-65 is a good engine for long range travel, because it accelerates at a slow pace. It can keep increasing speed after others are maxed out, so builds up high speeds. It is also very fuel efficient and is not too expensive.

Name: Pram 177-90

Type: Ion Emission Drive

Acceleration: 0-100 SLU in :45

Top Speed Range: 850 SLU

Size in sq. Meters: W:5, L:12, H:5

Fuel: Ions Extracted from He

Fuel Consumption: 6500 SLU per KG of Processed He

Cost: Cr 25,000 each

Description: The I77-90 is an advanced version of the classic 65. With faster acceleration, slightly better speed and better fuel economy because of advanced ion extractors. The advantages though raise the price 10,000 credits though.

Name: Franco Fuzion XL

Type: Ion Fusion Drive

Acceleration: 0-100 SLU in :10

Top Speed Range: 700 SLU

I have many more vehicles and such, but I still haven’t decided anything, yet. I will update as soon as possible. I hope you enjoy this idea.
