This is an idea for a game which relies on a different style of gameplay.
This could be like a matured version of Hey You Pikachu, but it’s not the same game by any means.
Plot:
The NYPD has been fighting with a series of missing persons, and murders. There is no evidence besides dead bodies to be found. The only lead, is an abandoned factory in the center of all of the events, that has been reported as being possibly active. You are Sergeant William Jones, the head of the local SWAT division. The team is sent into the facility, while you stay behind in the command trailer positioned outside the factory. The team’s helmet’s are fitted with night vision cameras, which you can control. The officers are outfitted with communication links. Everything seems quiet, until the team uncovers a giant piece of metal blocking a hole in the ground, and bust it down, leading to a basement facility. Old, and cob webbed, there are no living humans to be found. Only newspapers and technology dating from the 1980’s. Turns out, that this is a hidden Black Ops compound from the cold war, that was buried after an accident, something horribly wrong.
Gameplay:
As an old, wise commander, you are not suited to active duty, however your mind is a valuable tool. You monitor all of the squad members from a large Television. At first, you only have first-person
helmet-cam views, until you can secure a tap to the CCTV security hard wire. With this, you can fully arrange and modify the views however possible. split the view between up to four cameras, activate night vision on the soldier cams, and guide your surviving men out from the facility before they all die, while containing whatever is down there. Use a Voice Communicator headset to communicate commands to your men. phrases such as, “There’s a bogey in the upper left hand corner of your view, behind a box. Open fire” will register, so the officer will fire his weapon at the crate, blasting rounds through it, hopefully killing the enemy. The AI, scripting would need to be adequate so much so that they will not do stupid things, such as walk into walls when you tell them they need to hug the corner and peek out.
Camera systems:
The cameras are able to be controlled by the player. The player can set the cameras to automatic where they slowly move back and forth, or manually control them, if something is suspected. The player can place multiple camera views, change the size, and pretty much micro-manage the whole camera system to the situation and needs of the player.
Special Stuff
You have a team of soldiers left. About 12. You can afford to lose a few, but once all of them die, you loose. The more soldiers you save, the better the rank you achieve at the end.
In one or more missions, the batteries may become drained, and until a player can find more, the soldier’s camera is disabled. some may become destroyed from enemies, and show static. if the zombies are smart, they may disable the camera systems, leaving you without eyes.
