Overdrive Knockout is a game where you manage and compete against boxers from all across the univers competing for the title of number one. There are 5 races competing and 500 boxers; human, warewolf, oni, mech, demon. Each race has its strengths and weakness but you can make them train to even it out. When you win fights you get money and training points to divide between hand speed, leg speed, strength, equilibrium, body endurance, recovery, overdrive rate, and power cells. You sign on and trade boxers in a mini game called Manager World. When you start out you pick 1 out of 10 managers to control. You go around town passing by non player characters, talk trash to other managers, and sign on boxers. The free agents look just like the regular non player characters so there's no telling who's who until you talk to them. You use prize money to get clothes, accessories, shoes, cars, rims, speakers, music, and things for around the house. The gameplay is fast and the damage is unreal. There is a left, a right, and a power punch. The right trigger buttons move your guard up and down. From a low guard you throw body blows. The left trigger buttons make you fade back and cut angles. Power punches deplete power cells. You have an overdrive gauge. When you sustain damage it goes up. As it rises your boxer moves quicker. When gets full you can throw power punches left and right without using power cells. The object is to get a knockout. No default wins. When your stamina bar runs out you get knocked down. Mash the trigger buttons to get up. Boxers with higher recovery stats get up quicker. Low body endurance means shots to the body take off the most stamina. Low equilibrium means head shots do the damage. Appearance is important. Humans come in black, white, hispanic, and oriental in varied builds. Warewolves are chest and shoulder heavy with long hair in arched points and come in black, silver, white, and brown. Oni have horns and long black hair and are built large with thick muscular arms and protruding midsections and come in red or blue. Mechs are built chest and shoulder heavy and are covered in plates with points that sick out from the shoulders, elbows, knees, and sides of the head and come in red, blue, black, and white. Demons have arched horns and snakelike torsos with thick muscular arms and legs and sets of wings on the shoulders and ankes and come in black, purple, blue, and red. These are the races and their strengths and weaknesses. This doesn't apply to every boxer and training can even out problem areas. Humans have balanced stats but the lowest stamina. Warewolves have strong hand and leg speed and strength but very low equilibrium, body endurance, and recovery. Oni have low speed stats and low body endurance but high strength. Mechs have high speed, strength, and body endurance stats but have low equilibrium and recovery. Demons are flawless powerhouses but are hard to find and only do business with elite managers. That is Overdrive Knockout in a nutshell.
