This idea is not fantastical. Wait for 5-6 years and it will come true! Science will learn how to connect all our body parts to PC. Everything: eyes, ears, feelings, will be transported to new dimension (matrix!). You may create any world and any situation! Player will feel only the game, nothing more! Even pain (if player wants) will be available! Is not this great? We do not have to wait long, but i would be happy if such tests would begin now, not in 5-6 years. Does anyone want to pay for this research? New era in gaming must come now! We are tired of monitors, joysticks, 3d glasses; we want to feel it in all 4 dimensions! EXAMPLE of such gaming process: "You feel a gun in your hands, you feel the cool wind blowing, you see enemy far away, you must reload clip in your mp5 yourself! You can feel the pain too! You feel the enemy's smell, his noise, his fear, you can touch him, do anything!!!" This is quite mad at first look, but think about it seriously! Such Full3D technology may help people in constructing, medicine and other... Technology is based on "cyberdeck". This implant is implanted into brain, and it gathers all needed info from user's brain using some kind of implanted cables. You connect this deck to your PC station (it has all needed software) and run config utility... andrzhan@mail.ru

It is an awesome idea that has crossed every gamers mind now and then, however...The part where you feel pain? I dont think so, perhaps if someone is shooting at you you will just feel a rumble. It won't get made though, maybe in a long time, but not now

All you have to do is connect to the mind other body parts are irrelevant since the they just send input to the brain anyway.
If you only feel the game world it could be dangerous.
The 4th dimension is time so in a way all of the games are already in the 4th dimension
I also think Matrix like gaming would be nice but I am in no hurry for such technology

Popular Science magazine just ran an article about machines that respond to human thought. This technology could easily be applied to make a game character move. Perhaps this is not too far away after all?

This kinf of technology would be sweet, I mean, lets talk about a flight simulator, would it not be cool to be able to feel like we were actually fly a F-14A Tomcat through the skys. I don't like the idea about pain, but everything else sounds good, its time the yput more energy into the study of VR.

I'm sure every gamer like myself must've thought of playing games like this before, so i can't say this is an original idea. I can only hope that someday games do become like this. Unfortunately, many people are already highly addicted to games, especially of the online PC variety, so such an era of gaming could become more than dangerous to say the least if any players were so immersed in a game that they started to really neglect the outside world. such a thing is very possible. nevertheless, i eagerly await some form of virtual interactive entertainment, i'd probably be a guinea pig for such a device to tell you the truth.
