Considering the success the show has had in America, it seems that a video game would be a good idea. This should not be some mediocre player vs. player fighting game, but rather an action (adventure)/rpg of sorts. The main character should be allowed to roam the lands while interacting with the main characters from the anime. Quests should arise to keep the main plot of the story moving, however, freedom should be given. There should be multiple side quests and other optional quests that would affect the outcome of the game. For those who have seen the anime, they know the story focuses around a reformed assassin who now protects people with a sword that cannot kill. Some aspect of his previous assassin days should also be incorporated somehow. I was thinking about some sort of dream or memory that allows the player to play as the assassin of old. Or some system, much like a humanity meter in a vampire game, that slowly changes Kenshin back to the Hitokiri if he partakes in activities that go against his current ideals. A balance meter that would have distinct effects on the main character. For example, if the character partakes in considerably more evil acts, this would move the player closer to becoming the Hitokiri. This may mean that the character becomes stronger and faster but thus tires out quicker, and is unable to inherit his extremely powerful succession technique. If the character remains pure and is concerned with helping people through optional quests or other means, this may mean the character leans more towards the kind-hearted Rurouni. This may mean that Kenshin takes more damage, but is able to inherit more techniques as he travels. If a balance meter was incorporated, then the most powerful character would be one that is in complete balance between the Hitokiri and Rurouni. This means that enough freedom would have to be granted to allow the player to make this choice, as well as the ability to attack most NPC's, much like Grand Theft Auto. In the anime, once Kenshin learns a certain succession technique he is able to control his inner Hitokiri, this should also be incorporated giving the game a more rpg feel. The fighting should be much like the rest of the game, set in open areas where the environments can be altered and used. Kenshin has a large number of moves that should be implemented into the fighting system, and should affect the environment. In the anime Kenshin is seen jumping off of walls to execute moves, this should somehow be incorporated. This game should carry at least a teen-rating, for while there would not be much killing (since Kenshin has vowed never to kill again) the game would include much fighting. The game should follow the basic storyline of the anime, while allowing for some artistic freedom as well. It should, at least make it up to the shishi-o saga, which was Kenshin's most difficult opponent. However, if the events of the OVA's (Original Video Animation) were incorporated, then much of the events from the Manga could also be included. For example, the introduction of the character, Enishi. I have many more ideas as I have been thinking of this for some time, and I envision this game to be something like the much anticipated "Fable" meeting "Way of the Samurai". It is a fairly ambitious project however, if done right this game could prove to have success beyond its already large fan population.

Leviathan
I love anime and I have seen a good deal of it, but I have never seen this show. I would also have to guess atleast 90% of the people who come here don't know what you are talking about either.
Perhaps you could give us some feedback on what is going on in this anime title. Who are the characters and what are they trying to achieve?

Kenshin is by far the best anime I have ever seen, and Leviathan, if you like anime you should def. check this show out. Since you asked Ill try and quickly explain the show, but I dont think I can do it justice.
The show follows Himura Kenshin, a mysterious wandering samurai (Rurouni) with a cross scar on his left cheek. In the first episode you discover that his sword has the blade on the opposite side (Sakaba) so that he is unable to kill people. He has vowed never to kill again, but to still use his sword to protect those in need. Throughout the first few episodes he becomes friends with many people, most importantly Kaoru, the owner of the dojo that teaches her style of fighting(Kamiya Kasshin Ryu). From the time he meets her he stops his wandering and stays at the dojo. Many more characters are introduced and soon Kamiya dojo is full of people staying there. However, the story gets really interesting when Kenshin's old nemesis returns and explains that the man who took over Kenshin's job as assassin has returned and is threatening the government. Kenshin then goes off to fight his successor (Shishi-o) but must first learn his succession technique from his master. I would reccomend that only after watching up to this point (about episodes 32-65) you watch the OVA's (original video animations) which make up an almost separate movie that explains how Kenshin learned his amazing fighting style, Hiten Mitsurugi Ryu and how he got the cross scar on his cheek, and why he vowed never to kill again. These OVA's are animated with much better quality and are much darker than the rather light hearted tv show. The story is tragic and beautiful and rivals many theatrical movies today. Anyway, that's an extremely brief summary, as the series spans 95 episodes as well as the two OVA movies and a separate full movie as well. I urge you guys to check it out and then hopefully you will realize how good a game could be made out of this show.
If you have any other questions just ask and Ill try to answer.
By the way, leviathan do you post on another board? I think ive seen your name somewhere else? (Maybe the bigbluebox.com/fable board?)
