Learn Game Programming
DeVry's Game and Simulation Programming curriculum will prepare you for taking on various development roles in the game industry.
Game Art & Design Degree
Westwoods’s game art & design program will teach you everything you will need to know before you apply for a job in the game industry.
You are the leader of an elite team trained by the military in many different areas, including: Sniper, explosives and reconnaisance.
But, you are no longer part of the military. Cut backs meant that your team had to be dropped. So now you have decided to form a mercenary group and sell your services to the highest bidder.
The Game:
you start the game in you head office where you wait for those all important calls, emails and faxes.
Once they come in it is up to you what job you take, but this is where it gets interesting. You can do more than one job at once. How you may ask!
Answer - You get 2 calls. One wants you to assassinate an evil dictator who is on holiday in your city. The other wants you to fly to the amazon jungle and use your impressive skills to rescue a group of hostges.
Now as most of the squad go to the amazon you can leave one behind to trail the dictator and find out where he goes each day. When the team have rescued the hostages and have returned they may then use this knowlede to aid them in retiring the target. E.g. you may learn that he will be attending an important social event and place your sniper ahead of time so he can get that perfect shot. Of course you will also have to have your escape route planned out as well, as the cops and dictators gaurds will be after you.
This ability to split your team means that you will be able to complete multiple tasks at the same time. The only thing that would limit you would be the amount of soldiers at your disposal.
You can even move between each team and watch and take part in each mission (or just let them get on with it). Of course if you successfully complete a missionyou will be well paid.
Equipment: All your soldiers will start out with the bare essentials needed to carry out their tasks. Upgradescan be bought with the money you make. Includng better vehicles and a bigger office.
Perspectives: There is no set perspective in this game. Some times it will be third person, other times, first person. It all depends on the mission being played. Though it will be possible to choose which one you would like.
Soldiers: You start the game with five soldiers. of course one or all may be killed in action. To prevent going ou of business you can employ new soldiers. Simply look at the applicants details and choose who you think is the most appropriate at the time.
Winning the game: The game is complete when all missions have been done. However this game is a perfect breeding ground for those add-ons that you can get for games such as GTA and Half-Life. Therefor it as the possibility of being limitles

Yes, this sounds a lot like Soldier of Fortune, and I do think we need another game like this.
All in all, I like this concept. While it does seem like a rip off all games of this genre, it is really the concepts that make these kinds of games. This one has excellent concepts.
I particularily like the gun for hire element. Holding true to its name, you are a gun for hire. It is that simple. The feeling that you can take and reject jobs makes players feel like they have control over the game. This pleases me.
I would like to take it a step further to suggest how missions might work. In the game, you pick the missions you want, and even more so, depending on what kind of missions you pick and your successes in each mission will depend if that client wishes to use you again and spreads the word to other associated clients. IE: If you take a job for the FBI, and you succeed, they will use you again in the future and perhaps refer you to the CIA or other departments, however if you fail, they won't want to hire you again or perhaps even want you dead. The missions you pick would warrant wether or not you wish to work for the law, or perhaps a terrorist organization.
Also, note that certain organizations could have relationships (good/or bad) with other organizations. If you take a job, while most of the time you are the hunter, one day you could become the hunted.
Tell us more about your comrade mercenaries, who are they? Are they controled by intelligent AI? Can you control them? Do they have unique talents? Can you issue commands to them?
And finally, tell us more about the class system. Are there classes? Or can you basically use any weapon you want? Tell us about the weapons? Are they realistic? Can you drive tanks and hellicopters? Are there great gore effects and brain splattering headshots? ;)
