Mage Gloves

I had a dream last night, it was probably one of THE coolest and funniest dreams I've had in a long time now. I was a mage in some sort of fantasy world and instead of using incantations to cast spells, it was purely arm and hand positions. It was so damn cool to experiment and find new spells and I even remember asking someone who seemed like my mentor how to cast "Open Chest" and I remember the movement and everything. It was closing your hands like if you're going to clap and then slowly opening them like a <. There was even such a larger reality in this dream. I cast a spell that put some strange blue aura in a chest (The spell was cast by 2 people and we had to make this weird thing with our hands while the chest was in the middle of us) and then I threw the chest at someone and did the "Open Chest" spell and it all blew up in his face. But anyway back to the game idea: Gloves, they run from your hands to almost your shoulder, so these gloves also read your elbows. Sensors in all of the joints of the hands and arms and that's pretty much it. Then the spells are "recorded" and when you "cast" something with your arms/hands then you cast whatever spell was recorded as that. Just to give some examples (Actually, one of my favourites from my dream), clasp your hands together, twist one hand to make a 10-pointed star and spin it back again the other way really fast, this would be the way to cast some sort of a "Magic Shiruken(sp?)" spell. There are infinite possibilities. Another one I thought about would be crossing your arms over your chest and then quickly moving them apart and to your sides as a recall-type of spell or a spell that shot blades around your characters.

If Mage Gloves was the absolute best game idea submitted in this contest can possibly be argued about. But one thing that is for certain is that Mage Gloves is by far the most charming game idea we have ever read and we have totally fallen in love with it. And yes, it was maybe just a dream, and a dream it will stay for quite a while, but we can promise you Ferret that the Prize in your mailbox is NOT a dream.
