Auto Assembly 2004 11/27/2003 Game Voice Actors Donate To Charity Event!
Following the success of its 2003 Transformers convention, Auto Assembly, Infinite Frontiers is now working towards the 2004 event being held over the weekend of 8th - 9th May 2004, again in the Britannia Hotel, Birmingham.
As well as all the same activities this year including guest talks, dealers, and much more, we will be hosting a charity auction in aid of the NSPCC and Cancer Research and we have enlisted the help of a number of leading voice actors from the games industry...
A lot of voice actors from TV shows do a significant amount of work in the games industry, and it's no longer acceptable for games to use staff from development teams - professional actors are not just the norm, but are expected.
We have received donations of autographed items from several Transformers actors with game experience for our auction and we hope to raise a considerable sum of money for charity and the auction will take place on the Saturday programme of events.
In terms of the actual autographs themselves, the following actors have already donated items (with some of their game roles and Transformers characters listed):-
David Kaye - "Klank" in "Ratchet And Klank", "Baldur's Gate" ("Megatron" in Beast Wars, Beast Machines and Transformers: Armada) Wally Wingert - the lead in "Maximo", "Star Wars: Starfighter", "Star Wars: Bounty Hunter", "Escape From Monkey Island" ("SideBurn" and "Mirage" in Transformers: Robots In Disguise) Neil Ross - Command And Conquer: Renegade", "Emperor: Battle For Dune", "Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons Of Liberty", "Star Wars: Jedi Starfighter", "Escape From Monkey Island" ("Slag", "Sixshot", "Springer" and numerous other Transformers characters) David Sobolov - "Spawn: Armageddon", "Call Of Duty", "Homeworld: Cataclysm" ("Depth Charge" in Transformers: Beast Wars) Neil Kaplan - "Star Wars: Knights Of The Old Republic" ("Optimus Prime" in Transformers: Robots In Disguise)
Please note that the game and television roles are not an exhaustive representation of their work to-date.
As an added bonus, we will be working closely with many of these actors to bring even more surprises for Auto Assembly! Wally Wingert (the voice of "Maximo") has kindly recorded some EXCLUSIVE dialogue for us as SideBurn that has been uploaded to the Auto Assembly website talking about AA2004!! We are already in talks with other actors who are donating items to the auction to get even more exclusive sound clips and other surprises!
For further information on the event, see the Auto Assembly website at www.autoassembly.org.uk or join the discussion on our forum at http://autoassmbly.proboards7.com and active members of the forum will qualify for a 10% discount on ticket prices.
We can be contacted by email at enquiries@autoassembly.org.uk or by telephone on 07860 948296. If there are any dealers or individuals who would like to donate items for these, please get in touch.
